Description

This article is a case report regarding a rare finding of Periodic lateralized epileptic form discharges (
PLEDs) in a patient with Herpes Simplex Virus type II.

Key Points

Current researches have more information linking PLEDs to Herpes Simplex type 1. We report a 62-year
old male who presented with shortness of breath (SOB) , pneumonia, a CT revealing a lacunar infarct of
the Left Parietal Lobe, and seizure activity revealing right sided PLEDs from Herpes Simplex type II which
is a very rare finding.
