PROCEDURE
Introduction Time
Introduce art project
We will be working on a Christmas art project until lunchtime. I want you working
as hard as possible, if you quietly do so we will have more time to continue in the
afternoon.
Show my example
Have examples on the smart board ready for them to follow or use as inspiration.
Have someone help hand out the white paper with template. 5 min

Differentiation: ELL I will take the student aside after instruction to give a clearer and
simpler instruction. I will show example and talk about different winter sweaters he
could design. The student who sits next to him also agreed to help out with anything he
may need.
Our 4 IPP students are all skilled with art and do not need any extra assistance.
Body Time
Sweaters 1) Make it fun, colorful, use some of our material and be 32 min
very creative. I want everything to be colored and do not
want to see any white on the page, EXCEPT if you are
using snow, but we have material to use for snow not the
white paper.
2) I want you to start planning out your sweater using
pencil lightly, when finished put your hand up and I will
2
come say if you can cut it out. Once I give you the ok and
you finish cutting it out you can start coloring or using
materials.
3) (Materials are already in the section)
Explain.
Scrap paper
cotton balls
googly eyes
felt
sticker stars
jewels, silver materials.
Afternoon? 1) The next step, once you are finished. Dont worry for
those of you who arent you can continue working on it.
But those of you who are or close to finishing. Put your
hand up to show me, then I will give you a piece of color
45 min
paper and you can glue your sweater on to it. Ms.
Duncan and I will pick the coloured background, as we
want them to be a fun tacky colour and not to match.

Conclusion Time
If you have any extra materials scrap paper or anything go return it back to
the pile. Return the glue, scissors and colors. Pick up all the scrap pieces off
the floor and wipe off your desks. Write your name on the back and put your 8 min
sweater on the front stool.
