Area:
Chikiti village toposheet map image of srikakulam district.

Scale:
Scale of chikiti village toposheet + map image of srikakulam is 1:50000 mosaic of
the toposheet + containing four individual 74 A/12, 74 A/16, 74 A/11, 74 B/9.

Using reference to this topo sheet detonates all features like water bodies, roads
drainages and contours features in the topo sheet contain point poly line, polygon etc...

EXPERIMENT -1

AIM:
Procedure for Geo-referencing

PROCEDURE:
Step: 1
Go to start and to programs and to Arc GIS and click on arc map
Step: 2
Go to menu bar, right click on Geo referencing and click on tools
Step: 3
Click on add data (+) on the menu bar and open the map from D drive and add.
Step: 4
Now add control points (+/+) on menu bar and select four corners of the map. One by one
and right click and insert X (latitude) and Y (longitude)
X ref 840.45= 84.75 45/60=0.75
Y ref 19 .30= 19.5

Step: 5
Go to Geo referencing and rectify the map and then remove the map by right click.
Step: 6
Again click on add data (+) and open the rectify map.
Step: 7
Go to arc toolbox (Red colour) and click on data management tools and click on projection
and transformations in that select define projection.
Step: 8
Give the input is the rectify map and output (Click on select)
Step: 9
Select Geographic co-ordinate system and select world and select W.G.S 84 and click on ok.
Step: 10
Now remove the image and again open the image from add data and go to arc tool box (Red
colour)
Step: 11
Go to data management tools and projection and transformations. In select Raster and select
project Raster.
Step: 12
Give the input is the rectify map and output (Click on select)
Step: 13
Click on select and select projection co-ordinate system and select UTM folder and click on
the WGS 1984 folder and select WGS84 UTM zone and 44 North or 43 North
83/6= 13+30= 43
84/6= 14+30= 44

Digitising the water bodies to find out area
Software used:
Arc GIS 9.3
Procedure for water bodies:
Step 1:
Click on the Arc map.
Step 2:
Go to arc catalog and create new folder in any drive.
Step 3:
Click on folder then right click and select the new and select the personal Geo data base.
Step 4:
Click on personal Geo data base and right click and select the new and select the feature data
set.
Step 5:
Given the name and click on next and select the projected co-ordinate system and click
import and select the Geo referencing topo sheet data and then click on next and click on
next and click on finish.
Step 6:
Click on feature data set and then right click and select new and select feature class.
Step 7:
Given the shape file name (water bodies) and gives the feature class (polygon or poly line)

Add shape file in the viewer.

Go to add data and add the topo sheet.

Go to editor then start editing.

Go to sketch tool.

Using sketch tool, delineate the water bodies features difference to the topo sheet
Step 14:
Go to shape file (water body) then right click, open attribute table, click ok.
Step 15:
Add all attribute values of the water bodies features in the topo sheet.

Software used:
Arc GIS 9.3
Procedure for contours:
Step 1:
Click on the Arc map.
Step 2:
Go to arc Catalog and create new folder in any drive.
Step 3:
Click on folder then right click and select the new and select the personal Geo data base.
Step 4:
Click on personal Geo data base and right click and select the new and select the feature data
set.
Step 5:

Aim:
Creation of digital elevation model for the digitised contours
Software used:
Arc GIS 9.3
Procedure for contours:
Step 1:
Click on the Arc map.
Step 2:
Click on the add data open the contours
Step 3:
Click on the 3-D analyst and click on the create/modify TIN and click on the create TIN
From Features and click on contours
Height source =contours No.s
Triangulate = mass point.
And click ok
Step 4:
TIN feature is created
Step 5:
Click on the 3-D analyst and click on the convert and click on the TIN to RASTER
Input TIN= TIN
Attribute = elevation.
And click ok
