Learning Target/s: At the end of the lesson, the students CAN:
1. describe what authentic freedom means;
2. live out freedom by doing what is good and become in ones truest self;
3. implore Gods Help in ones journey towards authentic freedom.

I. Essential Ideas

Authentic freedom is not the right to say and do anything, but to do the good ( cf. CCC 1740)

Through the gift of freedom we are called to the fullness of life, a life lived in proper relation
with others, with God and with ourselves.

II. Learning Experiences


A. Clarifying Understanding
Directions: (The students are grouped according to the interest they belong.) Individually do/follow the
task given in an envelope. After answering individually, you are to collate your answers in
a group and present an output as a group.

Group Task
Tier 1 In your own understanding of freedom, choose a symbol/illustration that
represents freedom.
Tier 2 Write at least 5 situations/instances that you do out of true freedom.
Tier 3 Give at least 3 situations/instances that you do out of true freedom, and identify
the stumbling blocks / hindrances that prevent you to do such acts.

B. Processing Questions

1. St. Paul, in his letter to Galatians stresses the responsible use of freedom as an opportunity. As child
of God, how will you exercise your gift of freedom?

2. Compose a psalm prayer surrendering to God the common obstacles that hinder your freedom and
imploring Gods help in your exercise of freedom.
