OVERVEIW OF THE STUDY (400 words supposedly)

This is a qualitative case study research that aims to determine how does having
BSN as a premedical course help graduated nurses who chose to study medicine
based on the insights and experiences of a practicing physician who graduated
Bachelor of Science in Nursing as her premedical course.

The study aims to answer the following research questions, what are the
thoughts and feeling of a physician Bachelor of Science in nursing graduate on BSN
as a pre medical course?, what are the experiences of a BSN graduate physician ,
what are the advantages of being a BSN graduate medical students? What aspects did
it help best during medical school years? Similarly, what are the disadvantages of
having BSN as a premedical course?

The results of this study can serve as a guide for aspiring physicians, especially
those who are considering to take up BSN as their premedical course, as no studies
have been conducted to study how a premedical course in Nursing can affect the
performance of BSN graduate- medical student during medical school, by knowing the
different advantages and disadvantages of BSN as a premedical course, this can help
them choose what premedical course to take in preparation for medical school.

This study will be focused on the insights and experiences of a practicing

physician who studied bachelor of science in Nursing as hir premedical course and had
finished both courses Davao medical school foundation, Inc, the study will be conducted
through in depth interview with the use guide questions that were formulated by the
researchers and approved by the research mentor.

The respondent will be given an informed consent that contains an overview of

the study, once the consent is approved, the researchers will set a place and time for
the interview itself, Note taking or tape recording will be used to document the
interview., Data gathered will be transcribed and organized by the researchers to
formulate the result of the study.

SOURCES OF FUNDING

The researchers will be shouldering all the expenses of conducting the study.

VULNERABLE INDIVIDUALS

The study will not be including children, pregnant women, indigenous people or
people with mental illness, disability or handicap.

RISKS TO PARTICIPATE
 There will be no risks to the participants involved in this study; there will be
neither compensation nor reimbursement of any expenses in conducting this study. The
profile of the respondent from this study will be kept confidential. The final output will be
kept in the Nursing Library of Davao Medical School Foundation, Inc. Research
personnel are the only ones allowed to have access to the files. There are no possible
harms associated with this study.

RECRUITMENT PROCEDURES

The decision to participate in this study is voluntary and the respondent is given
the right to refuse or withdraw her participation anytime.

PAYMENTS AND INCENTIVES

There will be no payment or any other incentives to be made to any research

subject in this study.

INFORMED CONSENT (a copy of the proposed informed consent along with a

separate information sheet, written in simple, non-technical language must accompany
this proposal form)

The researchers will approach the selected respondent personally will verbally
inform him about the study to be conducted, after the verbal consent, the researchers
will give the respondent a consent letter that was checked and approved by the
Research panel members. The respondent will be given a copy of the informed consent
to keep.

CULTURAL, SOCIAL, GENDER-BASED CHARACTERISTICS

This study will not be affected by the cultural, social or gender-based

characteristics of the respondent because this study focuses on the experiences of the
respondent only.

The profile of the respondent in this study will be kept confidential, the
researchers will make use of a code name to refer to the respondent in the study, only
the researchers will have access to the personal data of the respondent, the data of the
respondent will be stored in the personal computer of the researchers.

THIRD PARTY DATA

The final output of this study will be kept in the nursing library of Davao Medical
School Foundation Inc. and can only be accessed by DMSF students, the personal data
of the respondent will be kept confidential.

PROTECTION OF RESEARCHERS

The study involves no potential dangers to the researchers or those associated

with this study.

PROTECTON OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND BIOSAFETY

The study does not involve any use of biological and hazardous materials.

MONITORING OF RESEARCH

The study will be monitored by a research mentor and it will evaluated by the
panel members.

ANTICIPATED USE OF RESEARCH DATA

This study will be helpful to student nurses, medical students and future
researchers as a reference for future studies.
