Disassembling of Covers and Spare Parts

For the following steps, ensure the power is off and the power cord is disconnected.

1. Locking screw
Remove the Locking Screw either from the back as the instrument has already been worked with or from the
side when it becomes installed the first time.

2. Demount the Back Cover


Remove all 16 screws at the backside of the
instrument.

Cant the back cover a bit and slide it down carefully.


Disconnect the fan from the driver board.
3. Demount the Top Cover
Remove the small cover from the top cover
Use a long screw driver to open the plate drawer

Push the top cover from back to the front and lift
it up

Take care of the hooks that fix the top cover with the main cover
4. Demount the Main Cover
Remove the 4 screws at the side (2 screws each
side)
Put the instrument to the upright position and
remove the screws as shown below.

With the plate drawer open, also remove the two


screws underneath using an Allen key.
Move the instrument to the corner of the table

Disconnect the plug of the power switch


Pull the side walls more outwards by hand in order
to bring them underneath the main surface.
Slide the cover to the front side while pulling the
sides outwards
Tilt the cover downwards and remove it

5. Demount the Control Cover


Remove the two screws at the top
Remove the 6 screws (left and right) on the
underside

When the control cover is loosen, disconnect the plug from the heat plate
6. Release the Heat lid block
To release the heat lid block the screws on the
left and on the right side need to be removed

Then the lid block can be opened

7. Demount the Driver board and Power Supply board


Disconnect the 10 wires (5x black, 5x red)
using a small flat screw driver
Put the screw driver into the clamp and push it up
while pulling the wire out

Remove the 2 screws


Disconnect all 5 cable
Cut the cable tie and disconnect the flat cable
from the blue junction board

Remove the 2 screws from the blue junction board


Remove all 4 screws and take off the front board
of the driver board

Disconnect all cable and plugs from the driver


board
Remove the 4 screws
Before the driver board can be fully removed the
cable at the back side have to be disconnected too

8. Demount the Cover of Heat Block


Remove both screws on each side
Remove all 6 screws from the top.

NOTE! The 2 screws marked in red have a shorter length than the others.
Be careful when reassemble the cover.
If the wrong screws will be used, the drawer can not be closed properly anymore.
Dismounting the cover might be bit tricky. Lifts
up the rear side with one hand while the other
hand pushes the cover from the front to the back.
The small hooks on the left and on the right side
have to be loosen from its mounting without
braking them

9. Demount the Heat Block


Remove all 8 screws
Be careful not to move the linear motion rolling
guides to the very end. Otherwise the tiny balls
can be loosen.
10. Demount the CPU board
Disconnect the cable
Remove all 5 screws

NOTE! Upon replacement of the CPU board X origin calibration has to be performed. Refer to section
1.2 X-axis calibration in the Service manual.

11. Demount the photoelectric control board

Disconnect the flat cable from the photoelectric


control board
Remove all 4 screws

Turn the board down and disconnect the flat cable from the optical control board (PMT module)
12. Demount the PMT module
Remove the 4 screws
