ANNEXURE-1

Protection functions provided in the line bay as below:

1."Line Distance Protection-using MiCOM P442 and MiCOM P437"

2."Cable Differential Protection-using MiCOM P543"

are located in the AIS at Pothead Yard(1000 m away from the Control and Relay room locatd in GIS
Hall).

Requirement of Lead to connect the CT and above relays:

If these relays are located in Control and Relay room, then the lead required between AIS-CT and
respective relay is of the order of "6 runs of 4sqmm" which not a feasible solution as the
termination of these cables at CT MB and Relay Panel is impossible.

Proposal to overcome the above constraint:

For this reason, we propose to locate 400kV Tr.Line Distance protection relays(MiCOM P442,
MiCOM P437) and 400kV Cable Differential protection relay(MiCOM P543) inside DG Room
located at "Pothead Yard". These relays with Battery Pack shall be provided in a panel.
