Is There a Creator?

People’s beliefs of where they came from and how the world was formed has

been a question for a long time. No one has been able to keenly grasp the way the

earth has formed. There are many different ideas about how the earth was formed but

none that one can be sure of. In the human’s ability to think about this subject, Albert

Einstein says, “The human mind is not capable of grasping the Universe. We are like a

little child entering a huge library. The walls are covered to the ceilings with books in

many different tongues. The child knows that someone must have written these books.

It does not know who or how. It does not understand the languages in which they are

written. But the child notes a definite plan in the arrangement of the books - a

mysterious order which it does not comprehend, but only dimly suspects.” (Judaism

Online.)

This opinion-based question has led 80 percent of people to believe that God

created the universe. This could be “lack of education” (Jehovah’s Witnesses) which

would explain how 40 percent of biologists, physicists, and mathematicians believe in

God existing and listening to and answering prayers. This brings up the point that it may

take a bit of knowledge to believe in God, but it could take more knowledge to believe
that God is not static. The belief in God is very science related. Douglas H. Erwin, a

paleobiologist at the Smithsonian Institute says that, “One of the rules of science is, no

Moser-2

miracles allowed.” This implies that for God to be existent would be a miracle. Dr.

Herbert A. Hauptman, a Nobel laureate, says that believing in God is, “Damaging to the

well-being of the human race.”

For someone to believe that there is no God would mean that they must know

everything and must be everywhere in and out of the universe at the same time

because if they were not there, God could be there. (AnswersInGenesis.org.) This

makes it difficult for someone to become an atheist because they cannot have all the

knowledge in the world and cannot be everywhere at once.

Hebrews 3:4 of the Holy Bible says, “Of course, every house is constructed by

someone, but he that constructed all things is God.” First, this book is read mostly by

believers of God. In the faith of Christianity, the Holy Bible is the key to life. In this

specific quote, God is said to be the creator of all things. Romans 1:19-21 says,

“Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it

unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen,

being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so

that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, the glorified him not

as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish

heart was darkened.” This quote says that people that do not believe in God have a

darkened spirit. With this said, it gives no option but to believe in God, because no one
wants to have a darkened spirit. Jeremiah 29:13-14 says, “And ye shall seek me, and

find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith

the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations,

Moser-3

and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you

again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.” For God to be

real, a person will have to believe in their full heart that he exists. Only in this way will

God help someone. John 8:12 says, “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am

the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the

light of life.” As the son of God, Jesus leads a path of what God wills. People must also

believe in Jesus to fully enjoy all the things God has created. This is also clarified more

in John 14:6 which says, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no

man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:11 says, “Believe me that I am in the

Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.” This says that

Jesus and God go hand in hand. Revelation 3:20 says, “Behold, I stand at the door, and

knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come into him, and will sup

with him, and he with me.” This says that God is willing to care for anyone who answers

his call. God just needs believers to make life more enjoyable. Perhaps John 10:27-29

sums up everything, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man

pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no

man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” This is Jesus speaking to the Jews
saying that if people take the side of God and Jesus, they will always be protected and

no one will ever take the people from them. This quote really exemplifies why so many

people believe in God; they do it for protection.

For people who are Muslim, they believe in Allah. “All sustenance is required by

Allah alone.” (Sahar English TV.) This applies the same for those who are Christian,

except it is God that gives all sustenance.

With Christianity, anyone who believes in Jesus believes in God. (Adamson,

EveryStudent.com.) With actual proof of Jesus living on earth, it is hard not to believe in

God if you believe in him. Because Jesus says he is equal to God, you can believe in

the full power that Jesus and God do to create all things.

People who do not believe in God may say that the universe was formed by the

Big Bang Theory, or naturally. This theory may be impossible because it violates two

Laws of Thermodynamics and the Law of Cause and Effect. Atheists go on to say that

the universe is eternal and only appears to have had a beginning. This claim contradicts

some empirical evidences and observations moreover violates natural law.

(AllAboutPhilosophy.org.) God seems to be the only answer to the creation of all things.

With that, life cannot arise from non-life. (Adamson, BeyondtheUltimate.com.)

I believe that God created all things. In this, I am saying God is the creator. By life

experiences and by looking through my sources, I was able to come up with this

conclusion. Being a Christian, I have strong faith in God. By praying to him every day
and practicing Christianity all the time, I base my life on the belief of God. The sources I

used were all reliable because they all had valid statements. None of them had any

arguments that were unbelievable but rather, they had opinions that were professional

and understandable. One source I did not include in this essay was an interview with my

brother, Christian. He seemed to be an unreliable source because every answer he

Moser-5

gave me did not come from the heart. He seemed to think the interview was a joke and

that is the reason I did not include his thoughts. I believe that God is the creator of all

things, and I believe he does everything that is stated in the Holy Bible.
