Course Title : Events Management

Credit : 3 Units

Prerequisite : TSM 1H02

Course Description: This course give students an overview of the M.I.C.E. (Meetings, Incentive Tours, Conventions and Events/Exhibitions)
sector of the tourism industry and to appreciate the various career opportunities in this sector.

General Objectives: 1. To provide a historical perspective of the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Events/Exhibitions (MICE) market.
2. To explain how the MICE market fits into the tourism industry and let the students learn and appreciate the
importance of MICE in the tourism industry.
3. To define MICE and to enhance knowledge and skills in the management of MICE.
4. To identify the growth factors influencing MICE;
5. To explain the economic impact of MICE on the host city;
6. To update students on the latest industry issues and trends affecting MICE;
7. To give students a hands on experience in organizing an event.
