Figure 8.0 show the reading material that UTHM prefers to read. There are 4 optional answer
are given, comic, magazine, newspaper, and reference books. Based on the graph the highest
UTHM students choose was reference books at 34%. Then, 27 % was selected newspaper.
Meanwhile, comic and magazine gets 23% and 16% base on the result.

Reference books get the higher percentage because most student used it on their assignment,
tutorial, project and on their study. Newspaper get second higher percentage at 27%. Most
student like to reads newspaper because they can get on a regular basis is doing so keeps students
informed of all the latest world events. Magazine and comic are often on student hobby. So, it
been lowest percentage in the data.

In conclusion, UTHM students must read the reading material that can give benefits on
their study or life. The more students read the more knowledge and positive material can students
get.

For figure 16.0 are showed open ended question about how to enhance reading culture among
UTHM students. The pie chart show 33% give suggestion the university must increase more
festival, program or campaign on reading. Then 32% do not give answer and response. However
15 % of student give suggestion library must increase their program at the library. Add on 12%
give suggestion about more visual in reference books. Lastly, 8% student give some idea about
giving free books to students.

In the pie chart show just 68% are gave response on the open ended, 32% students not give
their feedback on the question.

Campaign on reading culture can give awareness about how important reading on support in
their study. Reading, whether for academic purposes or for pleasure has been seen to be the key
to lifelong learning.

Figure 11.0 show the most importance source to UTHM students in the survey that have done.
Five type reading source are selected. There is novel, internet, references books, magazine and
newspaper. The students have given the rate of priority to decide whether the source is most
importance, importance, moderate, less importance, and least importance.

The first bar graph shows 49 student most choose novel are most importance. Then its follow
32 students choose it was importance. Meanwhile 26 students select as a moderate, 15 choose
less importance and 28 students choose it was least importance.

For the internet, majority students say internet was most importance by 75 students. This is
followed by 36 students choose importance and 21 says it a moderate. It just a minority students
say it less importance and least importance.
 Third bar graph showed 25 students choose most importance, 46 students say it was
importance, and 40 students choose as a moderate. Less importance and least important get 20
and 19 voted form UTHM students.

In the 4th given source material, magazine, majority choose as least importance and less
importance by 52 and 27 voted by students. Meanwhile 30 students choose as a moderate, and
the remaining choose as importance and most importance by 21 and 20 voted.

The last bar graph showed 25 students choose newspaper as most importance. Then 35
students choose as importance. Followed by 25 voted on moderate, 32 and 33 students choose as
less importance and least importance.

From the total bar graphs, it is rather obvious that internet is the most importance source to
UTHM students. Internet is the best source that be accesses for study and reading at anywhere
and anytime. Follow by novel at 2nd source and reference book at 3rd source. Nowadays, reading
novel is a most hobby for relaxing for the students especially for the female students.
Meanwhile, newspaper get the balance voted by UTHM students. Lastly, magazine gets the most
voted at less importance and least importance.

In conclusion, we have to increasing our reading culture does not matter in any source of
reading. To increase the reading culture, students can be read on their interest source like novel,
comic, journal, newspaper and any type on reading.
