Though famed for its beaches and
vibrancy, in contrast, Bournemouth
and its surrounding areas are home
to churches and cathedrals of
fascinating cultural, historical and
national significance.
Bournemouth’s most famous literary

Cultural Heritage
A five day event attracting over
200,000 visitors, the Great Dorset
Steam Fair is now widely recognised
as the National Heritage Show. The
show covers over 600 acres with
exhibits including steam engines,
hundreds of craft stalls, heavy horse
displays and a funfair- a fabulous day
