1.4. Briefly explain the responsibilities of each group members in relation to their
position in the business
Marketing
Our marketing department involves researching what customers want and analysing how the
organization can satisfy these wants. Marketing activities range from the “strategic”
concerned with the choice of product markets ( and how to compete in them, for example, on
price or product differentiation ) to the operational, arranging sales promotion (offering a 25
per cent discount ), producing literature such as product catalogues and brochures, placing
adverstisements in the appropriate media and so on.
Customer Services
Our customer service department interacts with our company’s customer to provide them
with information to address inquiries regarding our product and cleaning services. In
addition, our customer service department deal and help to resolve any customer complaints
or inquiries like handling problems, assisiting in sales and doing clerical task.
Finance
Service Department
Our service department provides the services to the rest of the company.

The possible recruitment methods that can be used for the positions in 2.1 is interviewing/pre
selection. We can also use third party sourcing which we can use an agents to lookout or find
the qualified job candidates.
2.4 Discuss the possible selection methods that can be used for the positions in 2.1. At
least one of the methods needs to utilize interview.
The possible selection methods that can be used for the positions in 2.1 are in-person
interview and cultural fit selection .
2.5 List a minimum TEN questions that the panel of interviewer may use in the
structured interview. The questions need to include at least ONE of each : Situational
question, behavioural question and background questions.

4.1. Explain FOUR (4) potential appraisal problems for the positions in 2.1.
i) A team though full of many specialties, can often find that they’re missing several key
people to ill important roles. When you try and be good at everything, you’re rarely proficient
at anything.
iii) Measure how well this individual gets along with fellow employees, respects the right of
other employees and show a cooperative spirits.
4.3.1. Should a manager tell employees what their goals are or let them participate in
setting the goals?
Yes, because when the employees know their goals they can be motivate their workers and
when the goals reached the workers will get a reward so they can work harder.
4.3.2. Why is it not a good idea to simply tell employees to ‘do their best’ when assigning
a task?
Because some of the employees will consider that as a pressure on their work. When
someone is under the pressure they probility to make a mistake is higher.
