More than 30% of the energy in a hotel is con-
sumed in the guest rooms. However, saving en-
ergy does not have to come at the cost of your
guests' comfort – in fact, you can even increase
this using clever energy saving measures. The
easiest time to save energy is when the guest
is not there, e.g. with a presence detector in the
bathroom. This ensures that the room is only lit if
someone is present.

The EGX300 energy data gateway from Schneider
Electric collects the consumption data for elec-
tricity, water, gas, oil and district heating. The
data from pulse counters is stored and sent via
the browser as an IP protocol.
