e EXPLOSION RISK
The actual grinding process constitutes a great danger of explosion. Therefore it is
important that any spark formation in the grinding chamber does not release an explosion.
Important factors for elimination of explosion risk:
1. The product in itself must not be ignitable, or be of a nature which will release
sparks when struck by the hammers.
2. The product should not contain foreign matters, which in shape and gravity are
similar to the product.
3. The separator should be correctly adjusted, so that both the air and magnet
separator function to their optimum
4. The separator magnet is cleaned regularly of caught metal parts.
5. The searator stone trap is emptied regularly to prevent it from filling and loosing
its ability to catch foreign matters
The installation of explosion relief membranes may minimize any material damage caused
@ syanexpiosion considerably.
ELECTRICAL RISK
If the electrical installation are made by an authorized electrician and in accordance with
the EU low voltage directive EN60204-1 or the rules in force at any time there should not
be any electrical danger.
OPERATIONAL RISK
At screen changes it should always be checked that the hammermill and fan are stopped.
When bearings are defective or overlubricated, the bearing housings may reach
temperatures up to 90° C. Therefore you should always be cautious when touching the
bearing housing46
