Sophomore rushed to Chattanooga following fall

Rawleigh is blessed to be alive
and recovering after slipping
Saturday night while running to
her dorm from O’Bannon-Bowdle
complex. While rushing past
Storms Hall with her friend Terri
Jones, Rawleigh suddenly slipped
and slid across the asphalt, sup-
posedly leaving a trail of blood
from her face.
In just a few seconds the Atkins-
Ellis resident blacked out and
remained unconscious for nearly
five minutes. That left Jones
alone in the dark, rain, and cold
to seek help. Without a cellular
phone, she found herself
screaming out to anyone, any
possible person who could come
and help out.
Fortunately, a few young men
from Storms witnessed the fall,
noticed that Rawleigh was not
getting up, and called for an
ambulance.

Brandon Fenty, Kyle Wilkerson,
and David Wirt. In moments the
ambulance arrived on the scene,
whisking the Rawleigh to Bradley
Memorial hospital. There, spe-
cialists determined that a bone in
her face had become fractured
from the incident. Doctors be-
came concerned that bone frag-
ments could be stuck near her eye
or brain, though thankfully, that
turned out not to be the case.
A nurse wasted no time in calling
the student’s mother and father
and insisted that they depart right
away because their daughter
could be going into surgery any
minute.
Rawleigh later reported that her
parents immediately prayed and
felt a “peace” about the situation.
Nevertheless, they left Goldsboro,
North Carolina at approximately
1:40AM with a ten hour drive
ahead of them.
From Bradley Memorial,
Rawleigh was sent by ambulance
to Erlanger in Chattanooga, Ten-
nessee. Heather was released
soon after arrival and was trans-
ported with her friends back to

In adition to a few abrasions, a
slightly swollen cheekbone and a
black eye, doctors believe that
there may be some sinus damage.
As a result, they have put her on
antibiotics and pain medication.
The bone, Rawleigh believes, may
heal on its own, without the need
for further surgery. Two days
later Rawleigh returned to Chat-
tanooga to see a plastic surgeon
regarding her face.

What’s next on campus?

What needs to be built next is probably a parking

our vehicles. But what I think is going to be built
next is .... a new dorm like Bowdle and O’Bannon.

Fun with Dick and Jane
proves to be just that.

Harrison Keely dreamed of living a

with a beautiful subur-
ban home, a bilingual
child, and a good job? That’s the life of Dick (Jim
Carrey) and Jane (Tea Leoni) in this new remake of
the 1977 comedy by the same title.
! The film opens with Dick on his way to
work at a large corporation. Surprisingly, he is
given a rather large promotion to become a Vice
President in the company. Jane quits her job to be
with her son and the two begin to prepare for a
lifestyle of luxury. Unfortunately, what Dick does
not know is that he has been set up by employees
to take the fall when the company goes under.
! Suddenly the company goes out of
business and Dick and Jane are left without work,
all of their money in the fallen corporation’s stock,
and a rapidly decreasing land value. In one of the
more humorous sequences of the movie, Dick and
Jane both fight to find new jobs, none of which
work out.
! Facing eviction and bankruptcy, Dick
and Jane both turn to a life of crime to gain back
what they lost. The hold-ups begin at service sta-
tions, progress to coffee shops, and then, eventu-

other hand, then this may be the perfect movie.
Jim Carrey provides quite a few laugh-out-loud
moments and a few circumstances in the plot may
remind you of the reality we live in.
! Overall, the film is enjoyable, though
ultimately lacking in the morals department.

-Oliver Williams-
Underneath the Browning Bridge,
a creek flows toward the sea,
former raindrops flying past,
searching to be free.
That Browning Bridge,
an aging arch, across a simple stream,
is lonely for some reason,
like a boy without a dream.
Surrounded by the tallest trees,
and broken by the vengeful tears,
the Browning Bridge stays on its knees,
yet few expect the bridge in years.
The Browning Bridge had always been,
a symbol of the world within,
standing strong throughout the years,
and conquering those deepest fears.
In retrospect, how can it be,
that such a bridge would fall with time?

Missed class or chapel? What if it wasn’t a problem?

Lee could provide students with podcasts of lectures, interviews, classes,
sporting events, and chapels through Apple’s new iTunes U service.

There’s an online education revolution
For the past few months, Ap-

dents on iTunes. The experiment was more than a
success. According to Stanford, over 500 tracks are
available currently through the service and an aver-
age of 15,000 tracks were downloaded per week
throughout the semester.

doors for other institutions to become a part of the
online education revolution and the service has
been welcomed with open arms by several schools
including Duke University, Drexel University’s
