1. The redesign of Uber application

Our team had decided to redesign an interactive system regarding on Uber application system.
There are few things that need to be change to bring satisfaction for the users.

2. Introduction

2.1 System Background

Uber was founded in 2009 as UberCab by Garrett Camp, the cofounder of StumbleUpon, and
Travis Kalanick, who had sold his Red Swoosh startup for $19 million in 2007. Following a beta
launch in May 2010, Uber's services and mobile app officially launched in San Francisco in 2011.
Originally, the application only allowed users to hail a black luxury car and the price was 1.5 times
that of a taxi. In 2011, the company changed its name from UberCab to Uber.

2.2 System Description

Uber Technologies Inc. is a global transportation technology company headquartered in

San Francisco, California, United States, operating in 633 cities worldwide. It develops, markets
and operates the Uber car transportation and food delivery mobile apps. Uber drivers use their
own cars although drivers can rent a car to drive with Uber. The name "Uber" is a reference to
the common (and somewhat slangy) word "uber", meaning "topmost" or "super", and having
its origins in the German word über, meaning "above".

Uber with only one type of gps which is Google brings problems to users that make them
worried. There are a lot gps navigation system that users like based on what type of gps they use.
Well Uber allow drivers to use different type of gps but doesn’t allow the users to use. Users has
their rights to choose their best preference gps system they like which Uber have been fixed into
Google type map only.

In this Uber application interface, there is no Google Voice Search available. Users which
have difficulties in typing will have a major problem in order to book a ride. Figure 3.2 above
shows there is only typing ability in this interface.

Users nowadays always on rushing to reach their destination. This make another problem
for the Uber users where there is not traffic info given in the interface design. This will also make
dissatisfaction and frustration to the users especially when they stuck in a heavy jam without
knowing it on the Uber map.
5.Purpose/Objectives of the Project

These are several objectives why we redesign the Uber application system:

 To give satisfaction for the users to use this application.

 Occupy the user’s requirement even more by adding some features.
 To give the users a good feel-like using this application.
 To make Uber more efficient to use in future.
 To make the Uber to be trusted to use by the users.

6.Project Scope
The project scope for this project is that to redesign the Uber application to make it even
more better and easier to use. With the redesign of this app, users has freedom to choose their
gps system based on what they like. We will also make sure the users to satistfy to use the app
by using voice command who have difficulties in typing. We also make the users to always be
alert by adding traffic info in the interface so that they will not cause any trouble during their
journey.
