PROPOSAL

PEER ASSISTANT STUDY (P.A.S.S)

PEER ASSISTANT STUDY (P.A.S.S)

1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this paper is to seek approval from UniKL MICET Management for
the proposed ChES programme that is allocated for ChES club members. The
programme is scheduled in November and December 2017.

2. BACKGROUND
2.1 The programmes are planned to motivate the students in their academic studies.
Besides that, it is to expose the students to promote relationships between seniors
and juniors of ChES Club members.
2.2 Through the programme planned, the students will develop knowledge that will be
useful in their academic studies.

3. OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the programme are:

3.1 To inspire the students in their academic studies.


3.2 To motivate the weak students to have improvement in their cumulative grade
point average.
3.3 To expose the students to promote relationships between seniors and juniors of
ChES Club member.
3.4 To increase the number of excellence student.

4. ROLES MENTOR AND MENTEE

4.1. Role of the Mentee


As a mentee, the mentee will play many different roles during the course of mentoring
relationship. The following are some important roles for mentee.

1. Driver of Relationship
- The mentee will identify the skills, knowledge, and goals that they want to
achieve and communicate with their mentor
2. Development Planner
- The student will develop and maintain their study plan and work with the mentor
to set up goals, developmental activities, and time frames.
3. Resource Partner
- The time usage for the programme will be used to work with the mentor to seek
resources for learning; identify people and information that might be helpful.
4. Continuous Learner
- Take full advantage of this opportunity to learn with a systematic schedule.

4.2.Role of the Mentor

As a mentor, their primary role is to provide guidance and support to mentee based on his
or her study needs. At different points in the relationship, they will take on some or all of
the following roles:

1. Coach/Advisor
- Give advice and guidance and share ideas.
- Share information on "unwritten rules for success" about the subjects.
- Provide input to the study action plan.
2. Source of Encouragement and Support
- Act as sounding board for ideas for concerns about the subjects.
3. Resource Person
- Identify resources to help mentee enhance their understanding in academics
subjects.
- Expand the mentee's network of contacts.
- Seek opportunities for increased visibility for mentee.
5. JUSTIFICATION

After a thorough discussion among the committee members of ChES, it is found out
that the programme should be carried out every Wednesday or Saturday in November
and December 2017.

6. DETAILS OF ACTIVITIES & BUDGET ESTIMATIONS

The estimated cost of the programme is RM 55.00.


 P.A.S.S (Peer Assistant Study) will be held:

Time: 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.
