Abstract:

Introduction/Background/Literature: Should not be short

 Start with hook. Get them interested. Start with short story.
 Problem
 Significance
 State of lit today
 When writing about this we must talk about what we wrote about and also add where the state
of the lit is. You must talk about why you are studying authors and their strengths and
weaknesses. We will add in information where we fit in at with our research and point towards
the weaknesses in past surveys.
- Some Study
- Major Findings
- Interpret findings (relevant to your study)
- Tell (above) why this author’s research is important.
- After we are done writing introduction we should not be bringing up any new citing/references
once we get down the findings section.

Methods

 I need to read what’s in your head. I want you to lay out your thinking for everything we did in
our methods.
 Collection Method
 Instrument
 Process
 Study Population
 At this point we are only talking about setup

*Only 3 things can happen in stats. “Data Analysis”

 Describe
 Compare
 Looking for prediction?

Lit review = 5x important papers

Each paper is 1 paragraph description

 What we read
 What was found
 Why is important

Results/Findings

 Easiest way to fill this section talk about objectives e.g. Objective #1, #2, #3
 Primary Stats finding
 Graphics. Tables/Figures
 Table 1 demographics – talks about population
 Histogram: numbers in-between like grades point average 4.0 – 3.8 – 3.5
 Bar Chart grades – A,B, C,
 Pie Chart – 4 or less categories to compare
 Scatter Plot – 2 variables. Shows us relationship between var. 1 and var. 2

Discussion (and Conclusion)

 What did I find and what does it mean

 What are the limitations on our studies
