Sleep Tight Royal
Mobile
Treat your precious little one to a royal mobile
with fascinating bunnies and bears and stars.
Each is attached to a regal crown designed
to lull baby to sleep.
12.5 cm [5”] tall. Animals are 9 cm [3¾”] tall.
SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS
dc2tog: [Insert hook in next st, yarn over, draw
yarn through st] twice, yarn over, draw yarn
through 3 loops on hook.
CROWN
Make 2
With 2 strands of A held together and 5mm
[US H-8] hook, ch 61.
Row 1: Dc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch
across – 60 dc.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as tr here and
throughout), turn, tr in each dc across.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, dc in each dc across.
Row 4: Repeat Row 2.
Shape First Point
Row 5: Ch 1, turn, dc in next 10 tr, leave
remaining sts unworked.
Decrease Row: Ch 1, turn, dc2tog, dc in each
st to last 2 sts, dc2tog – 8 dc.
Next Row: Ch 1, turn, dc in each st across.
Repeat last 2 rows twice more – 4 dc.
Next Row: Ch 1, turn, [dc2tog] twice – 2 sts.
Last Row: Ch 1, turn, dc2tog.
Fasten off.
Shape Next Point
*Join 2 strands of A held together in next
unworked st on Row 4, ch 1, dc in same st, dc
in next 9 sts.
Decrease Row: Ch 1, turn, dc2tog, dc in last 2
sts, dc2tog – 8 dc.
Next Row: Ch 1, turn, dc in each st across.
Repeat last 2 rows twice more – 4 dc.
Next Row: Ch 1, turn, [dc2tog] twice – 2 sts.
Last Row: Ch 1, turn, dc2tog.
Fasten off.
Repeat from * to make 4 more Points.
With wrong side together, hold both Crowns
together. Fold pieces so first and last Point are
together, lining up edges. Holding 2 stands
of A together and working through all layers,
join yarn at first row and dc evenly along side
edges to join side seam. When side seam is
joined, continue to dc evenly spaced along
pointed lower edge, working 3 dc in each
point, slip st in first st.
Turn right side out. Stuff lightly with fiberfill.
Insert embroidery hoop along top straight
edge and sew top edge closed.
Border
With 2 strands of A held together and 5mm
[US H-8] hook, ch 65.
Row 1: Dc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch
across – 64 dc.
Row 2: Change to B, ch 1, turn, *dc in next
dc, skip next sc, 5 tr in next dc, skip next dc;
repeat from * across.
Fasten off.
Sew edges together. Sew around straight
edge of Crown with B ruffles pointing towards
Points.
ANIMAL
Make 4; 1 each in C, D, E and F
Animals are worked in continuous rounds.
Place marker for beginning of round.
Head
With 1 strand of yarn and 4mm [US G-6] hook,
ch 2.
Round 1: Work 6 dc in 2nd ch from hook, slip
st in first st to join – 6 dc. Place marker for
beginning of round.
Round 2: 2 dc in each st around – 12 dc.
Round 3: [Dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc]
around – 18 dc.

Shape Body

Working from centre of lower edge to halfway
up Body, work backstitch through all layers
to outline Legs. Work a line of backstitch
from one side edge up to shoulders for Arms.

BUNNY EARS
Make 2 for each Bunny
With 1 strand of same colored yarn and 4mm
[US G-6] hook, ch 6.
Row 1: Dc in 2nd ch from hook and next 3 chs,
5 dc in last ch, turn to work along opposite
edge of foundation ch, dc in next 4 sts.
Fasten off.
Sew an Ear on either side of Head.
BEAR EARS
Make 2 for each Bear
With 1 strand of same colored yarn and 4mm
[US G-6] hook, ch 2.
Row 1: Work 5 dc in 2nd ch from hook.
Fasten off.
Sew an Ear on either side of Head.
BUNNY SNOUT
Make 1 for each Bunny
With 1 strand of B and 4mm [US G-6] hook,
ch 2.
Round 1: Work 6 dc in 2nd ch from hook, slip
st in first sc – 6 dc. Fasten off.
Sew a French knot with matching yarn in
centre of Snout.
Sew Snout in centre of Head. With black
embroidery floss, sew a French knot for
each eye.
BEAR SNOUT
Make 1 for each Bear
With 1 strand of B and 4mm [US G-6] hook, ch 2.
Round 1: Work 6 dc in 2nd ch from hook, slip
st in first sc – 6 dc.
Round 2: 2 dc in each dc around, slip st in
first dc – 12 dc.
Fasten off.
With black embroidery floss, sew a nose in
centre of Snout with satin stitch. Sew Snout in
centre of Head. With black embroidery floss,
sew a French knot for each eye.
Hanger
With 5mm [US H-8] hook, join 2 strands of B
held together at top of one Animal Head, ch
15. Fasten off.
Repeat to attach a Hanger to each Animal.
STAR
Make 8
With 2 strands of B held together and 5mm [US
H-8] hook, ch 4, slip st in first ch to form a loop.
Round 1: Ch 3, work 9 tr in ring, slip st in top
of beginning ch – 10 tr.
Round 2: *Ch 4, slip st in 2nd ch from hook,
dc in next ch, htr in last ch, skip next tr on
Round 1, slip st in next tr; repeat from * 4
more times – 5 Points.
Edging
With wrong sides together, hold 2 Stars together.
Holding 2 stands of B together and working
through both layers, join yarn in any st and sc
evenly along side edges, working 3 dc in each
point, end at first st, slip st in first st.
Repeat to make 4 joined Stars.
Hanger
With 5mm [US H-8] hook, join 2 strands of
B held together in between 2 Points, ch 15.
Fasten off.
Repeat to attach a Hanger to each Star.
Attach 1 Star to another to make 2 strands of
2 Stars each.
Arrange Stars and Animals around inside top
edge of Crown and sew ends of Hangers in
place.
Mobile Hanger
Make 3
With 5mm [US H-8] hook and 2 strands of B
held together, ch 30.
Row 1: Slip st in 2nd ch from hook and each
ch across. Fasten off.
Arrange Mobile Hangers evenly spaced around
top edge of Crown and sew one end of each
in place.
RING
With 1 strand of A and 4mm [US G-6] hook,
work 24 dc around plastic ring, slip st in first
dc to join.
Sew opposite ends of Mobile Hangers to same
spot on Ring.
Weave in ends.
