Dear Jeanny,

I would like to share my traveling experience. Last holiday, I went to India. If you like
walking, Shimlai is a great destination. It’s located in Himachai. I went there with my family.
The most spectacular and beautiful landscape can be found there. Himachai is a travelers’ paradise –
lofty snow peaks, deep gorges, lush green valleys, fast flowing rivers, enchanting mountain lakes,
flower – speckled meadows and beautiful temples. Himachai especially famous for snow. It is also a
land of gods, goddesses and saints.
We reached the hotel in the morning . We took a rest for a while and then headed for our
destination. We visited many places. I can’t tell you the details one by one but I have attached
many photos.
If you want to visit Himachai, please tell me. I will be happy to be your guide. Free. Just

I will always remember visiting the house that my father lived in when he was a child. We found it
interesting, but it was not enjoyable.

The old house gave the impression that nobody had been in it for a long time. Paint was coming
off all the walls, and many windows were broken. Inside, the floors were covered with dust and dirt.
Food lying on the kitchen table had gone bad. It seemed as if the last owners had left in a hurry. The
air was filled with a bad smell. Old newspapers lay all around, and there were empty cartons and paper
bags everywhere.

At first, when we went inside, there was not a sound to be heard, except for a loose window
rattling gently in the wind. After we had walked about five minutes, we suddenly heard loud voices
from the bedroom. We went to see who was there. The room was empty ! We found no one
anywhere in the house, but voices continued speaking around us. We left the house very, very
quickly. It was really a frightening house.

Dances are parts of celebrations, and mark important times of life such as births,weddings and
funerals. They are parts of festivities at the times of planting dan harvesting of rice, and other important
events.
There are many different types and styles of dances. They are Court, Martial, Mask dances.
The dances of the different islands vary. Men and women seldom perform together,except in courtship
dances. Generally dancer will be either men or women. Indonesia dances are slow, with very
controlled movements. The dancers’ arm and hand movements are very important.
The court dances are very formal in style. Dancers keep their faces without any expressions,
and perform precise gestures. Some of the dances are like dance – dramas and tell tales of epic battles.
Some dances reflect the pomp and formality of the court. Some dances tell stories from the Ramayana,
the Hindu holy book.
Martial dances are generally performed only by men. They were originally war dances, and
in some the men demonstrate their skill in using the weapons of battle, such as spears.
Some dances involve the use of elaborate masks. It is believed that when the dancer wears
mask, he takes the character of the mask as though the spirit of the mask takes over. Each island has
different mask dances, and different styles of masks.
