The Queen arrived in a horse-drawn carriage for a


90th birthday extravaganza in the grounds of
Windsor Castle.

The celebration featured 900 horses, performances


from a dazzling line-up of singers and narrations by
A-list actors.

Also attending were the Duke and Duchess of


Cambridge, Prince Harry, Prince Charles and the
Duchess of Cornwall.
The Queen arrived at the Windsor Castle performance ring
in a horse-drawn carriage, accompanied by Prince Philip.
As the Queen stepped off the Scottish State Coach, she was
met by her son, Prince Charles, who took her hand to kiss.
The Queen was greeted with a kiss on the cheek by her son
Prince Charles as she arrived at the glittering televised event.
Prince Charles wrote a tribute to his mother the Queen in the event's

Prince Charles' wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, pictured, was
also on hand to greet The Queen at the performance arena.
Acts from around the world were invited to perform at the
birthday event, which kicked off with a gun salute (pictured).
The Queen is the only member of the royal box who doesn’t seem
shocked by the thunderous artillery salute that kicked off the show.
Prince Philip jokingly covered his ears as the
birthday extravaganza got underway.
The Duke of Edinburgh and the Duchess of Cambridge laugh
following his joke as the Queen watches the proceedings.
The Duchess of Cambridge was seated next to the Duke of
Edinburgh, with the pair seeming to enjoy a series of jokes.
The Duchess of Cambridge wore a white dress and kept warm
from the chilly night by layering a red cape coat over the top.

The Queen's granddaughter Lady Louise Windsor took part
in the parade of horses alongside her father, Prince Edward.
Also riding in the show to celebrate the Queen's birthday
were Princess Anne, left, and her daughter, Zara Tindall, right.
Princess Anne smiled to the crowd as she made
her way into the arena on her white horse.
Singer Gary Barlow performed 'Something About
This Night' from the musical Finding Neverland.
Actress Imelda Staunton paid tribute to the Queen with a musical
performance while horses performed in the parade ground.
Dame Helen Mirren, who won an Oscar for her lead role in The
Queen, narrated the story of the Her Majesty's teenage years.
Singer Katherine Jenkins sung 'I Vow To Thee My Country', left,
while Beverley Knight performed during a section on the War.
Singer James Blunt, a former captain in the British army, played
his hit 'Bonfire Heart' at the gala performance for the Queen.
Kylie Minogue wore an embellished white gown for her performance
of her hit 'I Believe In You' at last night's gala event.
The Australian pop princess wore a white flowing gown during
the celebrations, where she was accompanied by a band.
A small white pony performed tricks for the audience during a
performance by pop singer Kylie Minogue at the gala event.
Many said the highlight of the night was the small white
pony performing tricks to the Kylie Minogue hit.
The Queen looked delighted during the performance by the
horses and ponies and was snapped smiling and clapping along.
Singer Jess Glynne performed her hit song 'Hold My Hand'
as all of the performers made their way back to the arena.
Dame Shirley Bassey closed the celebrations with a special
performance of her hit song 'Diamonds Are Forever'.
The 90th gala celebration also featured over 900 horses, who
trained for many weeks for the equestrian performances.
The Royal Cavalry of Oman performed with their horses at the event,
which also marked the last night of the Windsor Horse Show.
The horses and their riders turn to face the royal box, where they
wave to the royal family watching the birthday performance.
At the end of the show, a giant birthday cake was brought
into the middle of the arena to honor the Queen.
The gala party ended with all of the international performers
holding sparklers while singing Happy Birthday to the Queen.
The Queen shook hands with Kylie Minogue, who curtseyed,
as Her Majesty thanked the performers for taking part.
Her Majesty shakes hands with opera singer Andrea Bocelli,
who also performed during the 90th birthday celebrations.
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were driven
away from the show arena at the end of the night.
