I have recently completed my final semester of the After Degree Program and currently
awaiting the completion of the documentation for my Teacher’s Certificate. I have taken
many classes focusing on language development in young children, ESL,
multiculturalism, and english. My cumulative GPA is 3.68.
Experience
FORT INTERPRETER, FORT WHOOP-UP; LETHBRIDGE, ALBERTA — MAY 4, 2016 –
SEPTEMBER 5, 2016
Developed, prepared and implemented educational, and public programs, as well as
led educational school tours and interpreted exhibits. Demonstrated excellent
interpersonal skills when interacting with the public and responding to visitor inquiries.
Community Involvement
GENERAL MEMBER & EVENTS COORDINATOR, WUSC LETHBRIDGE; LETHBRIDGE,
ALBERTA — JANUARY 2016 – PRESENT
Event Committee Member helping to develop and implement programs to raise
awareness about the WUSC and funds to bring a refugee student to study at the
University of Lethbridge in the Fall of 2016. Participated in Bake Sales and Member
Training Programs. This year we campaigned and succeeded in obtaining a student
levy of $2.00 at the University of Lethbridge in order to ensure the sustainability of the
Student Refugee Program (SRP). As Events Coordinator, this involved arranging for
various fundraising and awareness raising events including a bottle drive, Wheel of
Fortune event, Rise and Shine Together: Coffee Awareness Event, arranging a coffee
special at the Coffee Company to raise WUSCs on-campus profile, attending WUSC
and Students Union club meetings, as well as speaking in a number of classrooms
setting about the WUSC, the SRP, and the referendum.
TUTOR, READ ON FOR SUPPORTING SUCCESS PROGRAM, LETHBRIDGE PUBLIC
LIBRARY; LETHBRIDGE, ALBERTA - OCTOBER 19, 2016 - DECEMBER 14, 2016
Tutored a kindergarten ELL student on developing her phonemic awareness and letter
recognition skills. Often used plenty of visual, alphabet books, songs with actions, and
letter sort games to help make learning both fun and meaningful.
Skills
• Familiar with both Macintosh and PC Computer programs (eg. Microsoft Word, Power
Point, Excel, etc.)
• Excel at oral and written communication
• Amiable personality and great interpersonal skills.
• Motivated self starter and work well on my own as well as in a group
• Great organizational skills
• Able to be on my feet for long periods of time, and lift heavy loads
