UNC Chapel Hill was founded on in 1789, making it the oldest public university in the

nation. It wasn't founded by a specific person being founded by the William Richardson Davie.

UNC Chapel Hill is an Co-ed public school located at Chapel Hill, NC. UNC takes up a

whopping 729 acres. In-state cost of attendance is $24,630 while out of state is $49,712, tuition

in-state is $8,566 and out of state is $33,648 the rest is equal for both in-state and out of state

room and board costs $11,218, books and supplies costs $1,442 (collegedata.com).

The acceptance rate at UNC Chapel Hill has a 26%. The Average acceptance SAT scores

by subject are Math 620-720 (2014), Reading 600-700 (2014), Writing 590-700 (2014). The

average acceptance ACT score(Prepscholar.com). A competitive GPA to get admitted in UNC

Chapel Hill is 4.63 weighted. This SAT/ ACT score combined with the desired GPA is highly

competitive in admission and can be balanced for example a low SAT score with high GPA.

Some of the most prominent majors offered at UNC CHapel Hill are Biology,

Business, psychology and nursing. UNC offers double majors and even offers three areas of

study but only two majors are allowed for example two majors and a minor is a valid option.

Financial aid is provided at UNC Chapel Hill but he deadline for applications are at

March 1st. Scholarships are awarded according for academic achievement, individual talent, or

other unique criteria specified by a donor.

UNC has a wide variety of intramurals such as flag football, basketball,

volleyball, street hockey, tennis, table tennis and even innertube water basketball. UNC also

offers both sororities and fraternities.

On campus living is necessary for freshman and optional for sophomore through

senior year with either on campus dorms or off campus living available such as apartments or

houses. To request a roommate or request a new roommate you use the new UNC housing

assignment portal available on UNC’s college website. UNC’s policy on Alcohol is strict people

under 21 may not buy or consume alcohol. Students 21 years of age and older may not possess

opened alcohol container cannot drink on school premises and cannot supply to a underage

student.

UNC offers unlimited and block style meal plans both used at two all you can eat

buffets on campus. You may choose from a 100,120,160 and 200 block each plan comes with

“plus swipes” that you can use on on campus restaurants ( regular swipes don't work at these

restaurants). Late night options include the Rams markets which is the on campus grocery store

and Subway.
