SECTION 1

INTRODUCTION

SCOPE AND PURPOSE

This document contains supplemental maintenance requirements and other changes of the
maintenance tasks and frequencies required for A300-600 aircraft converted to freighter
aircraft by incorporation of the major change DA PFM 00400A (SB 00-100).
It applies to:
- A300B4-600 with GE CF6-80C2 engines
- A300B4-600R with GE CF6-80C2 engines
- A300B4-620 with PW JT9D-7R4 or PW 4158 engines
- A300C4-620 with PW JT9D-7R4 or PW 4158 engines
- A300B4-620R with PW 4158 engines

This document contains only maintenance tasks resulting from the passenger-to-freighter
conversion of the aircraft. Scheduled maintenance requirements resulting from other
modifications carried out at the time of conversion have not been considered in this document.
This document is only valid in conjunction with the A300-600 MRB Report, issue March 2000,
and comprises the minimum maintenance requirements considered essential for initial
operation.

NOTE: All MSIs, SSIs and Zonal Inspection tasks with the effectivity A300F4-600 in the
A300-600 MRB Report, issue March 2000 are also valid for the A300-600 aircraft
converted to freighter unless otherwise stated in this supplement.

The complete list of scheduled maintenance tasks and frequencies for the systems and
powerplant, structures and zones to be considered by individual operators for developing their
initial maintenance program for the converted A300-600 aircraft comprises of:
- tasks given by the A300-600 MRB Report, issue March 2000
- the changes given by this document
- changes resulting from other modifications (e. g. those for fleet standardization and for
U.S certification).

BASIS FOR STANDARDS AND PROCEDURES

The design of converted A300-600 freighter aircraft are based on the A300F4-600R serial
freighter version.The principle design changes introduced by the major change EO PFM
00400A (SB 00-100) are:

− installation of a main deck cargo loading system


− installation of a main deck cargo door
− installation of a main deck fire protection system
− deletion of passenger seats and carpets and introduction of new side walls and
ceilings
− installation of courier seats in the forward vestibule area, a courier oxygen system
and a courier communication system
− deletion of galleys and deletion of toilets (except toilet A)
− simplified ventilation and heating system
− blocking of aft passenger doors and emergency exits
− installation of window plugs
− deletion of mid passenger doors incl. frameshells; installation of a new fuselage shell

The scheduled maintenance tasks and frequencies contained in this supplement were
developed by Airbus Deutschland GmbH. This document has been presented to and was
approved - with the exception of Section 6 - by the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA). The Section 6
of this document details specific U.S. requirements for A300-600 freighter aircraft and is
subject of approval by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The procedures utilized are based on the „Airline/Manufacturer Maintenance Program


Development Document, MSG-3“, the „A310/A300-600 Maintenance Program Development
Policy and Procedures Document“ (ref. SE-M22 95A.0566/00) and the document „Procedures
for the development of Supplemental Maintenance Requirements“ (ref. Airbus Deutschland
GmbH SEM2D-H078/01).

SECTION 2

GENERAL RULES THAT APPLY TO ALL A300-600 PROGRAMS

1. Refer to the A300-600 MRB Report, issue March 2000.

2. In the context of this document, the referenced rules of Section B of the A300-600 MRB
Report are to be read with the understanding that they are in support of a document of
supplemental maintenance requirements - not a Supplement to the A300-600 MRB Report
- and thus may not always be fully applicable.

SECTION 3

ZONAL INSPECTION PROGRAM

This section contains changes and additions to the Zonal Inspection Program given by the
A300-600 MRB Report, issue March 2000, which are required for specific A300B4-600 aircraft
converted to freighters.

The revised zones only apply to the fuselage and doors. The requirements stated in this
section completely supersede the requirements given in the A300-600 MRB Report for a given
zone.

Maintenance requirements for Zonal Inspection Tasks contained in the A300-600 MRB Report
have been validated and classified as follows:

1) Zonal Inspection Tasks valid without changes


2) Revised Zonal Inspection Tasks
3) Zonal Inspection Tasks not applicable

1) Any zone not specifically mentioned in this document remain covered by the existing Zonal
Inspection Program (ZIP) requirements of the A300-600 MRB Report, issue March 2000 in
accordance with the effectivity given in the MRB Report.
NOTE:This include all Zonal tasks which are applicable for the A300F4-600R and which
remain fully valid for the A300-600 aircraft converted to freighter without any change
unless otherwise stated in this supplement.

2) The following Zonal Inspection Tasks have been revised; the requirements given in this
section completely supersede the requirements given in the A300-600 MRB Report for a

A300-600 aircraft converted to freighters.

REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. OPERATORS

The requirements for U.S. operators remain as given by the A300-600 MRB Document with the
exceptions listed below.

Operationally check, on a sampling basis, the escape slide systems per the folowing
schedule:

DOOR/EXIT QUANTITY CHECK INTERVAL


LH OR RH SIDE (PER OPERATOR FLEET)

FWD PASSENGER/CREW DOOR 1 Not to exceed 36 MTHS

Checks may be performed on either side and do not at all have to be performed on the same
aircraft. As an ongoing continuous maintenance program the operator should continue the
operational check sequence until this schedule has been revised by the MRB. Inadvertent
deployments may not be used to satisfy the above requirements.

AIRCRAFT ZONING

There are neither changes nor additions required in the aircraft zoning for A300-600 aircraft
with major change DA PFM 00400A (SB 00-100). All given zone boundaries are kept, but due
to the conversion to a freighter some zone descriptions have been reworded.
