Introduction

Barangay Information System a system with a database, which is capable of handling

numerous records from its area, including the census and demographic profile. In an information
system, computerization is concerned about interrelating different but interdependent
transactions. This can result in a system with well-integrated process that can perform much
faster and more accurate than a manual system.

The Barangay is a very essential place where it contains information about the people living
there. Some people would seek some information they need that can only be found in the
barangay. In manual processing it would take time to search for information. But with the aid of
computers it would greatly improve the time and result you will get compared to manual process.

The purpose of creating this system was to provide an easier and effective way of managing
resident’s information using a more effective computerized information system in order to have
faster record transactions in the barangay, to help keep the records of the barangay tanod (peace
and order) and be prevented from loss and destruction and to be more specific and accurate in
viewing the barangay residential status through the help of the residence locator. The system
served as an instrument for a barangay to increase good governance and better performance.

Statement of the Problem

1. Will it be effective in maintaining, searching, and storing records and generating reports
of the residents?
2. Will the employees will find it easier when a resident ask for an important document
usually an employee would assist the resident but because their document aren’t properly
organized?
3. Will it prevent of losing files and documents?

Objectives

a. To develop a system that can manage and organize barangays household. In our system
there is a section where you can add, edit, remove and view information of residents
living in that barangay.
b. Our system is capable of viewing old entries of information concerning health, crime and
other important topics that would affect a person’s well-being in that barangay.
c. To make their employees work faster and easier. With the aid of our system everything is
just single click’s reach.
d. We also included a section where instance a resident would need a certain certificate,
now the employee can just access our certificate he/she needs and a blank copy of that
certificate would appear automatically.

 Being in the technology trend will make
things easier and producing results much
faster.

required documents from their respective
barangay.
Weakness
 Records of residents keeps on piling up
 Searching for a resident record takes
awhile because of stack of papers
Threats
 Other Barangays have a more efficient on
handling of record by having them stored
inside a computer instead of stack of
papers.
 Other barangays can produce required
documents much faster because of
technology.

Strength
 Can efficiently provide residents a much
faster way of retrieving their records and
provide their specific document needed.
 Can produce much faster results and print
hard copy documents needed by the
residents who requested it.
Opportunity
 Can upgrade the current Computer and
Printer for a much faster and reliable data
management prevent data or record loss
of residents.
 More and more residents will be happy
with the new and improve way of serving
them and the improving of the overall of
the barangay
Weakness
 Costs of operation will increase
 Barangay will need to have a computer
literate staff and a technician to
frequently maintain the new hardware.
Threats
 Other barangays will have a much more
advance technology providing the
necessary needs of their respective
residents.
 Some residents will try to compare the
services of other barangay which they
might criticize in the long run if not fix or
improve
