ADDICTION BREAKING SCRIPTURES

Lives are filled with various forms of temptations. It’s our forgiving God’s words where
people can find the encouragement and strength to overcome these cravings. These
Bible verses provide inspiration to overcoming the power of addiction with the faith
and spirit of the Lord.
Remember Jesus overcame the devil’s test and temptation but using the word of God.

1 Corinthians 10:13-14
13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God
is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you
are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 14 Therefore,
my dear friends, flee from idolatry.

1 John 2:16
16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride
of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.

Compare33 Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”

3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering
produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope
does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts
through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11
9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not
be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who
have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor
swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But
you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Titus 2:12
12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-
controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,
James 1:2-3
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

Hebrews 4:15-16
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses,
but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.
16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive
mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
John 3:16-17
