This article mainly introduces the experiences of the first generation of Chinese

immigrants and also the reasons why Chinese began to migrate to the United

States. During seventeenth century, the immigration of Chinese to the United

States suddenly increased mainly because of the news that there was a large

amounts of gold discovered in California. After the news that people discovered a

large amounts of gold in California reached to the China mainland, Chinese

people began to move from China to america.
