“We begin this New Year with renewed faith, hope, and thankful hearts! We are truly blessed to live in such an
awesome faith community. We were humbled by the outpouring of prayers, concerns, and offerings of help and
support during Mike’s surgery, treatments, and recovery. You will never know how much we appreciated your
acts of kindness. May God Bless Each of You! With Sincere gratitude……Mike & Kathy Redeker”
Marriage minute
Research tells us that children develop secure attachments to their parents when their needs are met
consistently over a long period of time. This repeated care leaves the children free to learn and grow in
a healthy way. As parents, we instinctively know this. Although it is not convenient to answer a child’s
cries at 3:00 am, we don’t think—we just do it because we know it is important! The same consistent
attention is needed for our spouse if our marriage is to be healthy. One need in marriage, especially for
wives, is to be heard. We would do well to have the disposition of Samuel in this weekend’s readings
when he tells God, “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening!” For practical strategies on how to be a
better listener, check out the Every Day in Love Marriage Empowerment Series:
