MARKETING SITUATION
I. Business Review
A. Company Profile
Gaquing’s Laundry Shop is owned by Mrs. Edna G. Gaquing. It is located at Barangay
Bacayan, Cebu City. Gaquing’s Laundry Shop has only been operating for three months from
September 28, 2017 to present. It is a sole proprietorship. The laundry shop is connected to a
water refilling station owned by the same owner. The 60% unpurified water, which is clean, from
the water refilling station is placed into a container and by after which is called waste. The waste
water is then used to wash the clothes. The owner has spent approximately 500,000 pesos. Given
the fact that Gaquing’s Laundry Shop is still new they still don’t have a business logo, a tagline, a
vision and mission statement. Gaquing’s Laundry Shop has only two employees as of this
moment. Operating for three months, Gaquing’s Laundry Shop already has many customers who
come back from time to time. Mrs. Gaquing says that she got her customers through word of
mouth. She just asked her neighbors if she could wash their clothes. Currently, Gaquing’s
Laundry Shop washes a maximum of 70 kilos per day, but aims to wash at least 1000 kilos a day.
Gaquing’s Laundry Shop has no advertisement plans yet as of the moment.

External Environment Analysis

Bacayan is more likely compared to as a province type of barangay since it is nearly located to the
mountain barangays. Bacayan has nearby malls. There are commercial building which consist mostly og
general merchandising stores, convenient stores , water refilling stores and laundry shops. Gaquing
laundry indeed has a number of competitors around the vicinity. GaquingS laundry location can be a little
problem for the business since it is not along the highway but instead its location is hidden but at least
there is no Laundry shop very close to it.

Internal Environment Analysis

The internal environment of Gaquings laundry will give you a clean and refreshing feeling since the
surroundings is clean and the paint that they used for their walls was a good choice. What the researchers
did not find that pleasing was the tarpaulin display they had outside and inside the shop. Their employees
were not that accommodating and would just look down as if there were no customers. The owner is a
very accommodating person. She was very kind and very easy to approach
