SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Developed and implemented the Distance Education Learning and Teaching Academy (DELTA). Gathered
information from faculty and designers to assess faculty development needs. Developed program goals to meet
discovered needs and created a four-year plan for implementing various facets of DELTA along with budgetary and
staffing requirements. Collaborated with university leadership, faculty, and instructional designers ensure buy-in to
the program. Worked with the marketing and communications team to create plan for advertising and promotion.

Designed professional development and training for Baker College faculty. Collaborated with team of
instructional designers creating several layers of professional development for Baker College faculty and staff
related to curriculum development, assessment, and learner centered instruction. Member of Effective Teaching
and Learning Committee charged with implementing the training seminars for 100% of Baker College faculty and
staff during the fiscal year 2012-13.

Led multiple program and course design projects simultaneously. Guided deans, content experts, and
instructional designers through a backward design process for more than seven programs and over 30 courses for
delivery online and face-to-face. Applied Quality Matters standards and Rigor & Relevance Framework in course
development.

Coordinated efforts with instructional design team to create new design/development tools. Several existing
design tools were inefficient for instructional designers and faculty. Collaborated with team to gather input and
create more effective design tools increasing efficiency by 75%.

Initiated pilot use of Yammer as means for team communication within Baker College. Piloted Yammer for
the Instructional Design and Effective Teaching and Learning department members to share ideas across time and
distance while planning our fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society during Homecoming week.
Evaluated potential use in online and face to face courses.

Developed consistent procedures for testing program, boosting efficiencies and morale among staff. General
education and special education teachers disagreed on testing procedures for special education students. Led
discussions and created plan for administering tests to special education students in the general education setting.
Communicated program to all teachers. Secured agreement, reducing complaints to zero within one month.
Launched computerized grading program, increasing faculty productivity 15%. Faculty members were
recording student grades manually in a grade book and in the school database for grade reports. Introduced and
taught computerized grading program, decreasing hours spent manually calculating grades and improving staff
efficiency, as well as, time management.
Designed and led course initiative, gaining approval for program, improving scores 20%. School lacked
Economics program even though subject was included in state testing. Developed new course materials and
presented to school management. Evaluated and recommended appropriate textbooks. Gained acceptance for new
program which became graduation requirement, improving student scores on state achievement tests.
Spearheaded curriculum and schedule change, condensing eighteen weeks of instruction into twelve. School’s
transition from semester to trimester schedule required curriculum changes. Led team to restructure social studies
courses, organized materials, and created sequencing binders for faculty. Presented program to Steering Committee
and successfully implemented program beginning with 2008 school year. Met all state mandates.

CAREER HISTORY
Distance Education Professional Development Manager, The Ohio State University, 2016 to present. Lead
initiatives developing professional learning opportunities for faculty and staff teaching online or in
blended/technology enhanced learning environments. Manage instructional designers creating and facilitating
professional development events and building synchronous and asynchronous instructional support resources.
Collaborate with university partners to develop professional development endorsement tracks for the University
Institute for Teaching and Learning. Teach online course on best practices for online instruction.

Online Instructor, The Ohio State University, 2017 to present. Teach online courses for undergraduate students
on how to be successful as an online student at OSU.

Sr. Instructional Designer & Faculty Development Coordinator, The Ohio State University, 2013 to 2016.
Developing processes and documentation for Instructional Design at the Office of Distance Education & eLearning
(ODEE). Consult with faculty and program directors in the development of online programs and courses. Build
online courses in Desire-2-Learn LMS, Softchalk, and Articulate Storyline. Consult with faculty applying for
Impact Grants and on winning projects with faculty. Lead proof of concept project to discover the feasibility of
campus-wide and cross-database student data collection for future analytics - pilot software and widgets being
created Summer 2014. Leading development and implementation of the Distance Education Learning and
Teaching Academy at ODEE.

Instructional Designer & Online Instructor, Baker College, 2008 to 2013. Lead and collaborate with teams of
instructional designers and content experts in the design of new programs and courses of study for traditional,
online and hybrid delivery models. Build online courses in Blackboard LMS, incorporating presentation and social
media to enhance delivery of course materials. Design and facilitate professional development seminars for faculty
and staff of Baker College. Quality Matters certified course reviewer. Instructor of online computer courses.

Department Head and Teacher, Trenton High School, 2000 to 2008. Managed and evaluated high school social
studies department with six employees. Led strategic planning for curriculum development and staff and course
scheduling. Taught up to 100 students per semester. Organized and facilitated staff development in technology

economics and geography courses. Led Social Studies Curriculum Council, developing and aligning K-12
