ECAM PAGES
System display (S/D) selection and priority
The System Display (SD) is normally presented on the lower ECAM display
unit. The System Display provides 11 system pages, a cruise page and a sta-
tus page. These pages are displayed one at a time. They can be displayed au-
tomatically or manually.
Advisory mode
Advisory mode: Without actual failure, but when a monitored parameter drifts
out of its normal range the relevant A/C system page is automatically dis-
played, and the parameter flashes.
In case of single ECAM DU (one ECAM DU fault) „ADV“ is shown on the
E/WD.
Warning mode
Warning mode: In case of failure, the aircraft system pages are automatically
displayed, according to the warning/caution messages written in the warning
area of the EWD.
For Training Purposes Only
Manual mode
All the aircraft system pages of the SD plus the status page can be manually
displayed after a crew action on the relevant key located on the ECAM control
panel.

DMC DATA LOADING AND INTERFACES
DMC
The three DMCs are identical and interchangeable, they receive aircraft system
data on ARINC 429 buses, weather radar information on ARINC 453 high−
speed bus, analog signal for the brightness control, discrete signal for the PFD/
ND transfer and PFD/ND ON/OFF. DMCs send data on an ARINC 629 link to
the display units.
When a new DMC 2 or 3 is installed, new software must be downloaded into it,
this is done by cross loading (Xload) from DMC 1 only via the MCDU. If all
DMCs are replaced the software must be loaded from the MDDU to DMC1.
From DMC 1 it can be loaded to the other DMCs by cross loading.
The Built−In Test Equipment (BITE) is performed in the DMC and the results
are stored for later transfer to the Centralized Fault Display System (CFDS). It
is possible to read this information via the Multipurpose Control and Display
Unit (MCDU)

CFDS/EIS MENUE pages
The computers of the Electronic Instrument Systems include a BITE ( Built−In
Test Equipment ). With this BITE the LRUs of the EIS are monitored and
tested.
The components of the Electronic Instruments System are:
6 Display Units ( DU )
3 Display Management Computers ( DMC )
The test of each DMC and its connected DUs is started via the MCDU.
