Come and learn about our Jail Ministry. Hear how God is using our
church to make a difference. Discover how you can be involved.
Letter from an inmate:
“I needed God! Once I lived my life in the game.
Money, sex, violence, and drugs I thought would
lead me to fame. I lived day by day without a care
- not one. I thought I was so cool; having all kinds
of fun. Then the police they got me that hot May summer day. They
got my money, cars, and drugs, and they took my children away. The
next thing I knew, I was in a jail cell. I sit thinking what will I do now that
I have been hit? Alone and afraid, I sit down and I prayed. Lord, I do
not know you, only I have heard spoken your name. They say you can
help me, Lord, I want to be saved. I feel so ashamed to ask for such
help from a man who only I’ve heard his name. Lord, where do I start?
Please come into my heart. I need your help with it Lord, its been torn
all apart. A life of sin, Lord, is all that I know. But with my sins forgiven
Lord, in my new life I’ll grow. Stronger and stronger a Christian I’ll be.
Who would have known these jail ministry ladies weren’t lying
to me? When they said you’ve always been there, I didn’t understand
why. Lord, when I think about it, tears come to my eyes. The father,
son, and spirit, I welcomed into my life. He brought me out of the
darkness, now I walk in the light.
Sisters Pat, Jean and Sharon have held my hand thru it all. I
know they will catch me if ever I fall. And the Bible they brought me
from Estill Springs Nazarene Church gave me more knowledge of my
father God as I read verse by verse.

Please continue to pray for those in jail and for us as we minister to
them. For many, this is the first time they hear about Jesus.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES
Kids, join us Wednesday nights at 6:30pm
and Sunday mornings at 8:30am and 10:45am during
the month of January for a fun time together with games,
puppets, videos and lots more. You will hear Bible truths that will stick
with you the rest of your life.

Super Sunday School Fellowships - February 4th
OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY: We are encouraging all of our Adult
Sunday School classes to get together and fellowship during the super
bowl. Use this as an opportunity to reach out to friends you would like
to get connected to our church. Check with your teacher for time and

MICAH 6:8 MINISTRY from Sandy Schefcik
Did you know… that the "Yes on 1" Tennessee constitutional amendment
was upheld by the Sixth Circuit Court of appeals this week? The
amendment’s adoption was closely contested in the 2014 election and, though
it appeared to have been approved by the electorate (approximately 53% of
the votes cast), its status has remained unresolved pending appeals to the
Tennessee Supreme Court, the federal District Court, and then the Sixth
Circuit Court of Appeals. As the Court of Appeals stated: " [A]lthough the
subject of abortion rights will continue to be controversial in Tennessee and
across our nation, it is time for uncertainty surrounding the people’s 2014
approval and ratification of Amendment 1 to be put to rest. ... we conclude that
the vote-counting method employed by defendant State officials in the 2014
election was reasonable and true to the meaning of Article XI, Section 3 of the
Tennessee Constitution, as confirmed by the state-court’s declaratory
judgment ruling. Further, we hold that the State officials’ actions did not result
in any infringement of plaintiffs’ voting rights. The district court’s judgment in
favor of plaintiffs on their due process and equal protection claims must
therefore be REVERSED. The case is REMANDED for entry of an
order VACATING the district court’s injunctive order and entry
of JUDGMENT in favor of defendant State officials."
