students protest
for degrees

Zakariya University (BZU)
Sahiwal campus students on
Friday protested on the main
road in front of University of
Sahiwal (UoS) against the
administration of the BZU
university for not awarding
them degrees. They chanted
slogans against BZU Univer-
sity and UoS and announced
continuing their protest till
they get their degrees.
The BZU campus was es-
tablished in Sahiwal and
later a changed in university
of the Sahiwal. Hundreds of
student gathered to partici-
pate in protest. One of the af-
fected students said that now
it is been more than 16
months and we all waiting
for our degrees. The student
told that we went to BZU
University to get register
their protest but the BZU ad-
ministration informed us that
they have not received tran-
script from Sahiwal so ac
cording the rules they can-
not issue degree without
BZU receiving the tran -
scripts.
Another protester said
that after all the hard work
now we were not being
given any transcripts or offi-
cial degrees even after we
had paid all the fees to BZU
University .He said after
completion master degree in
computer sciences, it was re-
ally hard for us to get job and
but now our job is at risk. We
would even lose our jobs if
we couldn't present our de-
grees in our organisations, he
added.
Talking to Daily The Busi-
ness, an official of the UoS
administration said that main
issue is practical exam of the
Department of Computer
Sciences, BZU sub-campus,
Sahiwal now University of
Sahiwal. In this regard, the
UoS campus director sent a
letter to the Controller of
Examination, BZU Univer-
sity Multan latter No UoS/d
607/17 dated 19/09/2017. In
this regard another latter
been sent to the Controller
of Examination, BZU Uni-
versity, Multan latter No
UoS/d-627/17 dated
11/10/2017 .
A representative told this
scribe that there is problem
with practical exam numbers
of computer science depart-
ment . Result card of com-
puter science students must be
issued from BZU Multan ac-
cording to the rules . He said
in this regard we held meet-
ings with BZU Vice Chancel-
lor to resolve this issue. The
UoS has no power to issue
transcript it must be issued.

demanded that the Punjab
government should seriously
look into this matter immedi-
ately to resolve this degree
issue to make sure save future
for students and their families
in current situation.
