Candidates must answer any TWO questions.

1. Designing efficient reward packages for international assignees requires


achieving a fit between individual and organisational objectives. Critically
discuss.

2. To what extent has there been limited growth in the numbers of females
taking international assignments? What explanations does the academic
literature offer?

3. To what extent should organizations be aware of the risk of expatriate


failure when sending employees on international assignments?

4. Why is there an imperative for MNCs to act ethically? To what extent is the
management of ethics the responsibility of the International Human Resource
function?

5. Perlmutter’s (1969) EPG model has informed debates around international


staffing for more than forty years. To what extent does the model continue to
offer useful insights into how MNCs select candidates for international
assignments?

6. With reference to the relevant literature, outline and critically analyse some
of the key debates around future developments in IHRM.
