be performed between terminal stations.)
stations )

Following steps are for 1+1 system:

Step4: In HS system, set the TX SW to No.1 or No.2 to on condition at
transmitting end.
Step5: At receiving end, set the RX SW to either No.1 or No.2 to on
condition.
Step6: Measure BER and confirm that the values are indicated as follows:
requirement 1×10 -12 or less.
Step7: At received end , change setting of the RX SW to opposite No.1 or
No.2 from it in step5 and confirm that the measured value satisfies
requirement given in step6.
step6
Step8: Change setting of the TX SW to opposite No.1 or No.2 from step4 and
confirm that the measured value satisfies requirement given in step6.
Step9: At receiving end, change setting of the RX SW to opposite No.1 or
No.2 from step 7 and confirm that the measured value satisfies requirement
given in step6.
Step10: Restore all connections and control status to normal.

Step1: At the transmitting end, disconnect OPT cable from the STM-1 IN
connector on the STM-1 INTFC.
Step2: At the receiving end, disconnect the OPT cable from the STM-1 out
connector on the STM-1 INTFC.
Step3: At both transmitting and receiving ends, set the STM/SONET
Analyzer as follows:
STM-1 INTFC (Electrical)
Bit rate: 155.52 Mbps
,
Code format: STM-1,NRZ
Level: S-1.1 L-1.1
In -8 to -28dBm -10 to -34 dBm0
Out -8 to -15dBm 0 to -8 dBm
Wavelength:
In: 1310nm
Out: 1310nm
