INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical equipment, basic safety precautions should always be
followed including the following:

READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

1. Before installing this fixture or doing any maintenance, make sure to turn off
the power supply at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
2. Do not use outdoors.
3. Do not use this equipment for other than intended use.
4. Product must be installed in accordance with NEC or your local electrical
code. If you are not familiar with these codes and requirements, consult a
qualified electrician.
WARNING - Risk of Electric Shock. Suitable for damp locations. Do not install
insulation within 3”(76mm) of any part of the luminaire. Suitable for suspended
ceilings.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE

• The AR Series of recessed troffers is for non-insulated ceiling applications using T-Bar ceiling grid and drywall grid adaptors.
• Designed for use in 120-277V 50-60 Hertz protected circuit (fuse box, circuit breaker). Supply wire sized as per NEC or governing
code(s), 90C rated.

TO INSTALL:

STEP 1:
1 2 Bring the AR troffer into the T bar ceiling
Access Plate panel.
STEP 2:
Bend T-grid ears over the top of the T bar
ceiling. See Figure 1.

STEP DIMMING OPTION:

T Grid Ear 0-10V
Knockout
3 Make the following Electrical
Connections:
a. Connect the black fixture lead
to the voltage supply Line
position. S1 Hot 1 and S2 Hot 2
b. Connect the white fixture lead
to the neutral supply position.
LINE
c. Connect the green or green/
NEUTRAL
yellow ground lead to the green
wire position. GROUND
d. If step dimming isn’t required,
combine BLACK– Switched
HOT #1 (S1) and BLACK–
Switched HOT #2 (S2) together
STEP 1:
Remove access plate by removing (1) screw
and sliding plate out. Remove appropriate
Knockouts
knockout from access plate or side of
luminaire and connect input conduit. See
Figure 2. 
STEP 2:
Connect wires as shown in wiring diagram
see Figure 3. Push all wires back into
housing. Re-install access plate.
NOTE:
• DO NOT CONNECT two separate phases
of the line voltage to the input of the AR
Troffer, the LED driver will be damaged
DRIVER ASSEMBLY and not covered by warranty.
S1 BLACK • The AC line inputs must be connected to
S2
BLACK the same phase of the line voltage.
• If step dimming isn’t required, combine
WHITE
BLACK– Switched HOT #1 (S1) and
GREEN
BLACK– Switched HOT #2 (S2) together.

 Lower Access 1/4” Hex nut 0-10V DIMMING OPTION:
4 Plate
NOTE: Use minimum 300V insulated
wire for dimming supply leads or
keep power leads and dimming leads
separate.
STEP 1:
Remove access plate by removing (1)
screw and sliding plate out. Remove
appropriate knockout from access
plate or side of luminaire to route input
INSIDE VIEW OF conduit. See Figure 2. 
LOWER ACCESS
PANEL STEP 2:
Dimming leads need to be brought
into luminaire from a different conduit
knockout on the side of the luminaire.
See Figure 2.
STEP 3:
Divider Dimming leads connections are made
0-10V
Knockout from below by opening door frame and
removing lower access plate. Remove
lower access plate by removing (1) 1/4”
hex nut. See Figure 4.

5 STEP 4:
Connect leads as shown in wiring
Make the following Electrical diagram see Figure 5. Push all wires
Connections: back in and reinstall the access plates
ensuring no wires are pinched.
a. Connect the black fixture
lead to the voltage supply
Line position. S1 Hot 1 and S2
Hot 2
b. Connect the white fixture
lead to the neutral supply VIOLET
position. DRIVER ASSEMBLY GREY
c. Connect the green or green/ LINE BLACK
yellow ground lead to the
green wire position. NEUTRAL WHITE
d. Connect the violet dimming GROUND GREEN
positive lead to the supply
dimming positive lead (for
0-10V)
e. Connect the grey dimming
negative lead to the supply
dimming negative lead (for
0-10V)
