STEPS NEED TO PERFORM DW PRACTS

1)installing oracle .
2)configuring listener
3)creating Oracle database ACMEDATA with
password abcd1234
mounting ACME_POS_DB_Create script to sql
server with sql server authentication mode(from
3449_code)authors code
Note: after executing this file one user gets created
acme_dw_user change password to abcd1234
Note : change settings in sql server , enable sa and
set password abcd1234
Execute ACME_POS_DB_Object_script
ACME_POS_LOAD_SCRIPT_FILES\ACME_POS_Bulk_
Load_Data file from cmd for the Sake of adding
record to database.
Mounting of create_acme_ws_orders.sql file from
sql developer
Note: Oracle sql developer may ask you java exe
path ,select java folder from program files

1) new/select Database connection


Connection Name:ES
Username:sys
Password:abcd1234
Role:SYSDBA
ServiceName:ACMEDATA(name of our
database)
Test:
Connect:
Open file:
create_acme_ws_orders.sql
Execute all files step by step
2)Create new connection
As
Connection Name:TT
Username:ACME_WS_ORDERS
Password:abcd1234
Role:default
ServiceName:ACMEDATA(name of our database)
4)Configuring Repository
Hostname:LOCALHOST
Oracle service name:ACMEDATA
Create new workspace
Username:SYS
Password:abcd1234
(select only 2 options rest are adapters)
Workspace_owner_name:abc
Password:abcd1234
Workspace name:ACMEWORKSPACE
Next
Enter password for OWBSYS(we have to unlock this
account at the time of installation)

next,next, finish
5)connecting design center and creating oracle
module:
Username:abc
Password:abcd1234
Host:LOCALHOST
Service name:ACMEDATA
1) creating oracle module
Click on oracle
-- new oracle module
Name:ACME_WS
Edit location :
Username:ACME_WS_ORDERS
Password:abcd1234
Host:LOCALHOST
Service name:ACMEDATA
- click on TEST
Next,next,finish
Right click on ACME_WS
- select import - database objects- tables-
all tables- next
2) creating non-oracle module
6) creating flat file module
File we want to import : counties.csv
Design center :
- MYPROJECT-- FILE -
New Flat File Module -
Name: counties_mod
-- Edit location
-browse 3449_code directory

After that click next , finish

Click on Import - Flat file
--- select counties.csv file from 3449_code ,
Next,next , select use first record as field name
Finish
7) Creating Target user and Target Module
Open design center :
Goto
Globals Navigator 
Select security--- Users
--- New user - create user
DBA NAME: SYS
DBA PASSWORD: abcd1234

User Name
Name: bbc
Password: abcd1234

Ok , next,finish
New Oracle module:
Name: ACME_DW
Edit location:
Username:bbc
Password: abcd1234
Host:LOCALHOST
PORT:1521
Service name: ACMEDATA
Test
Next,
Finish
