Sinopsis : Un científico militar llamado Robert Neville, interpretado por Will Smith, es el único
hombre con vida tras la inevitable expansión de un terrorífico virus. Neville se ha salvado
debido a su desconocida inmunidad al virus, pero no está solo. Hay personas que se infectaron
por el virus y son ahora peligrosas criaturas mutantes que habitan en la noche. El científico
huirá de ellos al ponerse el día, mientras que en las horas de sol los buscará para acabar con
ellos durante sus horas de sueño. Cada día, manda mensajes radiofónicos con el fin de
encontrar algún superviviente más. Al perder toda esperanza, es consciente de que la única
solución es buscar un antídoto contra el virus utilizando su propia sangre.

La historia se basa en la búsqueda del antídoto contra un terrible virus que fue originado como
resultado de la búsqueda de la cura contra el cáncer, en su búsqueda se encuentra Neville
interpretado por will Smith el cual es un virólogo militar el cual el es el único inmune contra el
virus, el es acompañado por su perra sam, en el dia ellos caminan durante la ciudad buscando
cazar un infectado para realizarle pruebas, el consigue cazar a una mujer infectada, pero un dia
el es cazado por estas criaturas el cual su perra lo salva pero es mordida e infectada y a el no
le queda mas remedio que sacrificarla, el se encuentra totalmente solo y en un momento de
cólera el se dirige hacia la ciudad de noche intentando matar a todos los infectados posibles,
pero la camioneta en la que el se dirige es volteada y rápidamente los infectados empiezan a
atacarlo.

Para esto una mujer y un niño lo salvan( Ana e Ethan) y lo llevan a su casa, pero para esto al
conducirlo a su casa, durante la noche los infectados se dirigen hacia su casa en búsqueda de
ellos con el objetivo de cazarlos, el con la desesperación enciende los reflectores fuera de su
casa y hace explotar algunos carros con explosivos pero esto no es suficiente porque logran
ingresar en su casa , el se dirige a su laborarorio y Ana se da cuenta que la infectada se esta
recuperando y a su vez los infectados ingresan a su laboratorio y golpean el cristal que los
separaba de ellos y en la desesperación solo se le ocurre una idea, esconder a Anna y Ethan
con una muestra de sangre con la cura en una agujero para que el explote con una granada
junto con los infectados, al final Ana se dirige hacia el lugar donde están los supervivientes al
virus y le entregan la cura para sintetizarla y contrarrestar el terrible virus.

Mensaje

El mensaje es el instinto de supervivencia no solo en los humanos sanos sino también en los
infectados, la necesidad de comunicarse y para esto tiene a su perra sam y al aparato de dvd
unido al televisor y también a los maniquís con los cuales el conversa para no perder la cordura
y a todo esto la perseverancia por encontrar la cura para salvar a la humanidad de este terrible
virus, para ello al final encuentra el virus y sacrifica su vida para la salvación de otros siendo
recordado por siempre.
