INT. AMOL’S ROOM - MORNING
AMOL is a class 12 student. He is getting ready for his
school. He is very neat in his appearance. He wears a white
well ironed shirt and a blue tie. His room is very neat with
well arranged books and table. He picks up the bag and moves
to the main room. We see his father reading the newspaper.
Amol picks up his glass of milk and switches on the TV for
watching the news.

We hear he changing channels.

CHANNEL 1 (V.O)

Hindi Movie scene: Tumne mujhe phir jeene ki wajah di hai.

Tum nahi jante k tumhare yeh kehne tumne mera atmavishwas
kitna badh gaya hai. Ab duniya ki koi taaqat hame jeetne se
nahi rok sakti.

Changes the channel

CHANNEL 2

Music Channel-Good morning doston, aaj phir hum chal padte

hai ek pyaare se din mein jahan saara jahan hamara swagat kar
raha hai……

CHANNEL 3

News Channel- …iss saal 2.75 lac students ne IIM ki CAT

pariksha mein baithne ki aasha hai. CAT jo har saal November
mahine k aakhari Sunday ko hoti hai……

CHANNEL 4

Serial- kyaa bhaisaab, phir wohi colour dikha rahe ho....koi

variety dikhaiye....ek type ka hi pahn k kya mazaa....thoda
change toh hona chahiye naa...

Meanwhile his mother enters the room. She talks with the
father.

MOTHER
Arey kaal aaplya teesaray malya che
Kamble chya muli ni lagna kela, eka
gujarati mula sobat.

FATHER
Kaay!! Mahnun-j sakali jasta baat
nahi keli. Bara zhaala, khub
lokanna suggestions det hota.

MOTHER
Ho, aata samjel. ...

AMOL gets frustrated on overhearing this conversation and

leaves for the school.

CUT TO:

EXT. LANE - MOMENTS LATER

AMOL is buying a book at a shop. The neighbor shopkeeper is

sweeping his floor.

BOOKSTALL OWNER
(to the neighbour
shopkeepr)
...yaar tamne roj kehwanu k kacharo
peli baaju valo. Sawaar sawaar maa
aakhi dhool ghusi jaay che dukan
maa.

AMOL gives him the money and leaves the shop. While taking
his bicylce to the road he overhears a conversation of a tea
vendor in the background. The customer is a person in a
formal dress, with a tie and wearing sunglasses.

CUSTOMER
Shu chaa na 4 rupiya kari
deedha....pan beeje toh 3.50 -ej
che!!

TEA VENDOR
...toh beeje pi levani....ema kem
etli magaj maari karvani.

CUSTOMER
...arey pan emm thodi chale...

AMOL leaves for school.

INT. CLASSROOM - DAY

The chemistry teacher is teaching. We see him writing on the

black board.

TEACHER
A + B --> C + D. This is called a
forward reaction. In this kind of
reaction two atoms forms a bond
within themselves and produced a
new product with the release of
energy. For eg. When two atom of
hydrogen forms a bond with one atom
of oxygen, then they become a
molecule of water (H2O).

TEACHER (CONT'D)

Sometimes even C + D can react to

give back the original parent atom
A & B. This would be called a
backward reaction. When the rate of
forward reaction is equal to the
backward reaction, i.e. the raw
material give the same products and
the products form back the raw
material, then equilibrium is
attained.

AMOL is attentively listening the lecture. But slowly the

thoughts of the incidences that happened in the morning start
occupying his head.

AMOL
(hearing in his mind)
Shu chaa na 4 rupiya kari
deedha....lokanna kub suggestions
det hota. Ab thanda ho gaya
hoga.....yaar tamne roj
kehwanu...eka Gujarati mula
sobat...

These thoughts are inturrupted by the teacher.

TEACHER
Amol are you with me.....

AMOL
(a bit surprised)
...yyeess sir.

TEACHER
..okay then...tell me the
difference between the forward and
backward reaction.

AMOL
Sir, in the forward reaction, the
two atoms join to give......

CUT TO:

INT. FRIENDS HOUSE - AFTERNOON

Amol has come to his friends house to get some notes.

FRIEND 1
Yeh le teri notes....copy kar
lena.....aur haa....chal main tujhe
mere bhai k UK k pics dikhata hu.

Amol’s friend turns on the computer and starts showing Amol

the pictures. Amol is totally immersed in the pictures.

AMOL
Yaar kyaa sahi jaga hai....sab kuch
kitna well planned hai. Sab log
kitna disciplied hai...kabhi koi
choti-moti baaton mein time waste
nahi....apni poori energy apne kaam
mein laga dete hai....No wonder
they are superpower, they deserve
that...and you know why...because
they work.

FRIEND 1
...yaah...maine kabhi itna shocha
nahi....shayad tu thik kehta hai!

AMOL is still facinated with the pictures.

DISSOLVE TO:

EXT. LANE - DAY

Amol is returning back to his home. He is still in the

thoughts of living at such a place as he had seen in the
pictures. He suddenly stops near a beautiful bunglow. The
bunglow has a car standing outside. He sees a man coming out
of the bunglow in black suit and a laptop bag. He goes to
the car.

Suddenly Amol realise that there is a whole row of similar

bunglows. The other bunglows also have the same type of car
standing outside.

The man of the first bunglow talks with his wife.

MAN
Aaj shaam ko dinner bahar karenge.

WIFE
Ok. Bohot achcha.

We can see that the other men from other bunglows also have
the similar discussion with their wives.

Amol starts realizing that their thinking process have

stopped. They have a monotonous routine lifestyle.

Amol now notices that the hair style and clothing of both the
male and females are almost similar. The men by the time have
started their cars and leaving for the job.

Amol starts feeling frustrated and trapped by now. He wants

to flee from their, but is unable to do.

He is by now wearing the similar black coat and his hairstyle

has also changed. Amol now extremely frustrated tries very
hard to get out of the situation.

Suddenly he feels a splash of water on his face. He wakes up.

CUT TO:

INT. AMOL’S ROOM - MORNING

FRIEND 1
HOLI HAI!!!.....yehhh....HOLI HAI
BHAI HOLI HAI....

The friend is shouting and dragging him out of his bed.

FRIEND 1 (CONT’D)
Kyaa yaar tu abhi tak so raha
hai....chal bahar sab log jama hue
hai.....chal chal chal....

Amol takes a while to understand the things! His friend drags

him outside the room.

EXT. PARKING LOT - DAY

The building people are cheerfully playing holi. Amol enters

with his friend.

He watches his parents enjoying the festival. They approach

another person playing holi.

FATHER
Arey Kamble...ekde ya! HOLI chi
subheccha.

Father puts the colour on Kamble’s face. Hey hugg each other
joyfully.

AMOL
(to him self)
Kamble uncle!!

He also notices the shopkeeper and the chai waala enjoying

the festival. Both of them are fully coloured hardly to
notice their faces.

A whirlpool of thoughts starts in Amol’s mind.

AMOL (CONT’D)
(V.O.)
When atoms A and B

We see his father and Kamble talking.

AMOL (CONT’D)
..forms a bond within themself
and..

We his father and Kamble hugging each other joyfully. Kamble

introduces a boy to father and then shaking hands with each
other. Amol’s mother and Kamble’s daughter are standing at
the sides. The boy and girl touching the feet of Amol’s
father and mother.

AMOL (CONT’D)
....produces a new product with the
release of energy.

Father and Kamble laughing at some comment. Amol feels

relieved. His face lightens up.

AMOL (CONT’D)
(to himself)
Life is always a forward
reaction...

DISSOLVE TO:

People of different community ejoying the festival.

DISSOLVE TO:

AMOL (CONT’D)
...We are always in a process of
achieving something. When ever we
start getting what we actually
want,....

DISSOLVE TO:

EXT. LANE - MORNING

We see the the man in tie at the tea stall moving towards his
destination. He helps a small boy cross the road.

DISSOLVE TO:

EXT. PARKING LOT - DAY

AMOL
...then equilibrium would be
established and...

INT. OFFICE - DAY

We see the same man talking friendly with a sardar uncle in a

government office. They shake hands and the man leaves.

DISSOLVE TO:

EXT. PARKING LOT - DAY

AMOL
...driving force of our life would
be finished.

DISSOLVE TO:

A wide shot of the whole area. It is full of colour.

Somewhere in between this chaos, Amol notices Orange and
Green colours on a white wall.

He is very proud of himself.

DISSOLVE TO:
