“Life is like a bowl of ramen; the noodles are the events that come and go, and the broth
is your friends. Do not slurp too quickly!” Anonymous. The spectacular jewel of oriental
cuisine with a curious and hopeful origin that served as fuel for the countries, which had
ended a terrible war, will continue under way. Ramen was considered an affordable fast
food and full of nutrients, it is more than a plate full of soup and noodles, it is a recipe
that symbolizes the mixture of flavors of a whole culture. The thrilling historical process
of the famous Ramen Noodles recipe and its preparation. Ramen is a Japanese dish
consisting of hand pulled noodles in a savory broth. Besides that, now it´s an iconic
Japanese dish, it is an immigrant, and the names originally used for it made that perfectly
clear. “Chūka soba” and “Shina” soba both basically mean "Chinese noodles" but they
have different connotations. Finally, in this essay will be discussed about the history and
its process to prepare.

So, we will start with a fascinating point, the historical process of the famous Ramen
Noodles. Before the Ramen noodles were popular and commercialized in Japan, they
had their origin in China, in this country, the Ramen was taken with cut noodles and salty
pork bones, a simple and affordable dish in that time. Well, after Japan's defeat in WWII,
Ramen Noodles became in an essential food for the Japanese, because in Japan an
astonishing industrial impulse forced all workers to work more hours per day, to recover
from the war, so workers needed a fast, affordable and nutritious food to work all day.
So, in this way the Japanese hoteliers began to market Ramen with the aim of attracting
more customers, over time they were mixing flavors and ingredients, adapting the recipe
to their culinary culture. Finally, in 1958 the instant ramen was invented by the Nissin
company and from that moment the amazing era of ramen began.
In the other hand, we have the preparation of Ramen Noodles. The ingredients for this
recipe are simple to get, but they must be fresh, we will need: Ramen noodles, pork
meat, chicken, water, onions, carrots, soy sauce, garlic, ginger and other toppings to
your liking. For the preparation of the recipe first, the ingredients need to be washed and
cleaned before being cooked, except for the noodles, once we have all the ingredients
ready the next step is boil water in a large pot. After that, add bones of chicken, garlic,
ginger, onions, carrots, and other ingredients flavor the broth, simmer for more than 4
hours. The second step is cooking a piece of pork in soy sauce, that liquid will be saucing
to add to the broth for the soup ang get a spicy flavor. After that, put this sauce in a bowl
with chopped onion. The third step is boil water in another pot, add noodles to the water
boiling for about 1 minute, covering them, while the noodles boil, add a little of the broth
to the sauce in the bowl and mix well. Once cooked noodles, remove them with a slotted
spoon, stir well to remove excess water. Then complete it with thin pieces of boiled pork
or other complements to your liking.
Finally, to serve Ramen we can decorate the table and choose nice music. Before that,
the plates need to be cleaned and in perfect condition, and the side dishes that go with
the Ramen too. As can be seen, the preparation of this recipe demonstrates its simplicity
and mix of cultures that has given its fascinating historical evolution, and we can
consider Ramen as a perfect dish, since is very high in calories and sodium and will
always be made with a lot of love and patience. (Maldonado, 2017)
