Unexpected A Poem by Payman Akhlaghi

Unexpected For M.
By: Payman Akhlaghi

I wished for a drop

And you gave me the sea:
If only I’d known to stay at the bay.

I wished for a gleam

And you showed me the sun:
If only I’d known to look away.

I wished for a glimpse

And you opened the gates:
If only I’d known to pick roses on the way.
