How do culture and environment influence one's life?

Introduction

In a normal coiffing, human beings do not grow in a set of predetermined values or expectations.
Generally, children are adopting and learn different behaviors from their peers, parents and at other
times from their mentors. Traits and personality are born out of culture and environment. Culture is the
way of life of a group of people which is helpful in constructing their beliefs, values and choices in life.
Moreover, it is culture that is responsible for elevation of the differences in the society; a critical the life
of human beings. Despite the many advancements in technology, one thing has been constant; culture
has always been carried over to the next generations depicting that people have related principals.
Researchers have experimented and evaluated numerous theories that surround the effect of an
individual’s behavior. Rogers Carl is a good example in his personality theory, for trying to expose
exquisite behaviors of a human being in relation to nature and culture. Thus, human beings strongly
believe that, their personality is largely influenced by their culture and environment.

It is not even debatable, by looking at an individual’s ways of life, you will easily tell that their
personality is born from their surroundings and ways of life. Culture is primarily transmitted via
modelling of actions and language as varying conditions authorizing one to adopt same historical periods
and influence proximity. it is for this reason that biological factors fail to account for variance in behavior
of an individual. Culture is mainly determined by the patterns of socialization and their ecology (Triandis,
2002). Moreover, personality triggers an effect on socialization and personality variance. For instance,
cultures where elders offer stability in emotions, comfort and high esteem are easily recognized among
young people. Where parents have an attitude of rejection, their siblings tend to adopt a negative,
unstable and hostile view of life.

Environmental and societal influences align an individual to live according to the patterns that are
accepted within that setting. One then would then appear strange to behave indifferent a village that is
close-tie and has specific norms of life. Natural characteristics such as the weather will make people in
that setting to select a particular attire (Pescitelli, n.d). One will look and feel out of context should they
wear clothes that are not commonly worn by people in that societal setting. Population will enlighten
people in that area to adopt more sanitary precautions for their city or homes. That is now the way of
their life, which is influenced by their beliefs and environment.

Lifestyle determines a Peron’s personality, even though you will meet some people arguing that
personality affects their choices in life. Lifestyle will determine one’s experiences in life which in turn
affect their ultimate decisions. As asserted by Triandies (2003), a Peron’s attitude is altered and fixed
from their culture and environment. However, people have varying life perceptions and thus these
attitudes might establish their destiny. In this case, it can be agreed that, a person experience might
influence their strategy to approaching life.

In conclusion, during childhood, personality traits tend to emerge but are influenced by a myriad of
factors. It is from people’s way of life and environment that personality traits and life’s aspects are
derived. More so, environment and culture will shape the lifestyle of a person in unison. In this case, it
can be concluded that, environment and culture will shape the lifestyle of a people over generations.
