Minutes for membership meeting November 2017

Meeting was called to order at 1900 hrs. 26 July 17 by President Ed Guadet.

Officers present, Harold Hansen, treasurer, and John Lavelle, secretary. A
pledge of allegiance was made and also a moment of silence for all POW/
MIA from all wars. A financial report was given to the members by the
treasurer, Harold Hansen. Membership information was also shared with the
members from Larry Witt, membership chair. There was no mention of any
members in distress at this meeting. Coin stories were shared by Ernest
Ledtje and Harold Hansen. The November meeting is the Wednesday before
Thanksgiving and turnout was sparse. The meeting was held at Ross’
restaurant because the Bettendorf library would be closing early for the
holiday. President Gaudet asked the feelings of those present about the
coming chapter Christmas party and it was discussed that perhaps this year
we might as a chapter cover the cost for those who attend the Christmas
party at the American Legion Post 26 in Davenport. The members present
voted in favor of paying the expense this year for the members. Larry Witt
shared with the members the results of the Rock & Roll Bingo event that was
held at Post 26 in Davenport. This event was very successful and it was
something that members enjoyed. It was felt that it would be something that
could become an annual event or possible even bi-annual. The members
showed appreciation for all the work that Larry Witt did to make the event a
success and Larry was quick to point out that the members of the committee
did a great job in obtaining silent auction items that made the event such a
success.
Minutes submitted by John Lavelle, Chapter secretary.
