Topic Statement (full sentence): Millions of animals are euthanized due to not enough no-kill shelters.

1. What is your prior knowledge about this topic?
- My prior knowledge of this subject is that many dogs are euthanized every year due to them not being
adopted and because animal shelters are being filled with stray dogs and cats.
- I also know that there are a lot of dogs in Riverside who are strays and wander the streets.

2. What problem(s) could you attempt to solve/address in connection with this topic?
- I could help spread the word that people who are considering on getting a pet should go to animal
shelters instead of breeders and pet stores by putting flyers in the office.
- I could help at the shelter to help animals there have a better chance of being adopted.

3. How can you attempt to solve one of these problems at Poly or in the local community (not globally)?
What type of product do you anticipate completing (see ideas for final product).
- I could ask my friends or teachers at poly if they would want to volunteer.
- I could put flyers for the animal shelter in the school office.

4. Explain how you might spend a minimum of 10 hours outside of the school day in the community
working toward this solution.
- I plan on volunteering at a local animal shelter whenever I can to help those animals get adopted.

5. Explain how you might provide evidence of your work throughout the experience.
- I could take videos of me with the dogs, I could bring a flyer or a pamphlet, or I could ask the lead
volunteer to check off how many hours I have done.

6. Explain any obstacles you might encounter in your attempt to address this problem.
- I may encounter problems with getting to volunteer.
- I may have problems with getting people to come to the shelter and also getting a lot of the animals
adopted.
