OBJECTIVE
Obtaining a teaching position that utilizes my passion for teaching to create a positive
experience for the students by implementing various teaching methods and coordinating
with other teachers to work on interdisciplinary units

EDUCATIONAL EXPIRENCE
Education 200- Foundations of Education | Fall 2015 | Grade “A”
A course designed to introduce candidates to the teaching profession; to give students a first
formal experience in the formal study of the dispositions involved in education and help
students assess their pre-professional readiness.

Education 201- Human Growth and Development| Spring 2016 | Grade “A”
Field Experience | ABC Elementary | 25 hours | Ms. Love D Mealot
Study of developmental characteristics of the individual through adulthood. Required of all
candidates in teacher education programs. An additional 15 hours of fieldwork in an
appropriate public school setting required.

Education 202- Educational Psychology and Learning| Fall 2016 | Grade “A”
Field Experience | 123 Elementary| 35 hours | Mr. Iam Awesome
Survey of educational psychology and related concepts for classroom application. Major
emphasis on learning teacher expectation and motivation, educational measurement and
classroom management concepts. Completion of a 25-hour field experience in an
appropriate K-12 public school setting required.

Education 227- Exceptionalities and Human Diversity| Fall 2016 | Grade “B”
Course emphasis was placed on recognition and special needs of students labeled
exceptional according to state and federal regulations. Effective instructional strategies for
teaching populations such as gifted, and students at risk for school failure, visually impaired,
physically challenged, speech/language handicaps and behavior disorders will be studied.
WORK EXPIRENCE
Kanawha Institute for Social Research & Action| Oct. 2012-Present
Provided one-on-one mentoring to help program participants become integrated into the
community, to develop positive coping strategies and to reach greater independence. Served
as a complement to therapy, by providing supportive friendships for people in mental-
health care. Provided companionship and emotional support to program participants by
using a variety of communication tools to connect with Compeer program participants.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Seminars and pre-service workshops attended in 2000-11 include Lesson Planning for
Diverse Learners; Cooperative Learning; Discipline and Classroom Management; Flexible
Grouping in Math; and Multicultural Education

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE
Boys and Girls Club of Charleston, WV
Volunteer Mentor at Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club, 2009 –present Academic Years.
Developing a long lasting relationship with a mentee by creating a safe and positive
environment and identifying the importance of character and healthy living weekly.
Emphasizing the importance of education and learning by tutoring and ensuring all
homework is finished by the end of each meeting.

National Society for Collegiate Scholars 2010- Present Awarded 2009 Mentor of the Year at
the Mentoring Club. Golden Key International Honor Society– recognizing outstanding
scholastic achievement Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society– recognizing outstanding academic
