Executive Director Summary
IDDS Milestones
YES!! IDDS begins 2018 with more than 1,000 members—
actually, 1,010 at the end of 2017. As a local component of the IDA
and the ADA, we are the grassroots where members can get involved
in their profession. 2018 marks the 140th anniversary of IDDS—
and that’s another milestone. We will be revising the membership
directory for you this year. Please attend the Spring GMM on March
21 to have a new picture taken, or send one in for us to use for the
2018 directory.
And, in December of 2018, I will be retiring from IDDS. It is
an honor to work for organized dentistry, and I cannot thank all of
you enough for this wonderful opportunity I have experienced since
2005. Thank you to Dr. Doug Peet, who was the first President I
had the honor of serving, and to Dr. Wayne Kinney, who will be the
last President I have the honor of serving, and to all of the Presidents
in-between those years. Most particularly, thank you to Dr. Dave
Wolf, IDDS Foundation President, whom I have served throughout
my tenure at IDDS. The search committee for my replacement will
begin advertising in the Spring, and will have the candidate selected
by the Fall. So, it’s going to be a busy year for IDDS, and I know all
of you will be serving your profession in many different ways. Have a
healthy and prosperous 2018.

This OSHA review focuses on record keeping requirements,
training, exposure control, hazard communication, emergency action,
and general duty safety. Fee: $75
CPR Recertification — 5 CE Credits
(Note: Indiana law limits hygienists to 2 CE credits for CPR
training and 5 CE for dentists.)
Check-in 11:15a.m. Course from 11:30-3:30p.m. approx.

This course, designed by the American Heart Association for health
care workers, includes two-person rescue adult CPR, child and
infant CPR, foreign body airway obstruction removal instruction
and Automated External Defibrillation instruction. Written and
practical tests will be administered. Fee: $85
