 GENERAL INFORMATION

1. What is the MET? It is an international exam of

English.

2. What levels is it for? From Basic to Advanced (A2 – C1

based on the Common European
Framework)

3. What is it for? It certifies the candidate’s English

level and it is accepted by most public
and private universities in Peru.

 Test Format
• You will take a written test (paper-and-
pencil).
• You will find135 multiple-choice
questions divided in two major sections:
o (1) Listening (45 minutes)
o (2) Reading and Grammar (90 minutes)

Develop task awareness: Knowing what the test format is

can be very helpful (sections, number of items, etc.)

You will hear short conversations between two people. After
each conversation, you will hear a question about it. Choose
the best answer to the question from the choices in your test
booklet.

Woman: I’m looking for the textbook for my

physics course, but you’re all out of the one I
need. Could you order a copy for me?
Man: Sure! That usually takes 5 business
days. Unless I have it sent by express mail,
but that’s going to cost you an extra 10
dollars.
Woman: No problem. Class starts next
week.
