PASTORS DESK

The publishing of Timoteyo Magazine is a revelation from

God; considering the great role youth are playing in the
society especially the church.

Young people are a pillar that keeps the church or

organization balanced because they stand in the gap between
young children and the elderly people. It is through these
young peoples’ eyes that one can predict the downfall or
raising, failure or success of any organization and nation.

The economic status of every nation, organization or church

is affected by creativity or passivity of youth in development
programs.

God, being aware of the vigor that is in youth, made it his aim
to call most influential biblical ministers in their youthful
stages; David, Samuel, King Soul, Daniel, our Lord Jesus and
his disciples, Timothy and many more. He did this because he
knew that even ministry work requires more energy.
Email: maondehenry22@gmail.com
Nevertheless, the youthful stage in life has so many
Facebook: www.facebook.com/henry.maonde
challenges in areas of behavior, spirituality, economy and
Phone: 0999714833 social status. It is therefore the aim of this magazine to
address these challenges in our youth even elders so that they
can become the most reliable human resource of the church as
well as the nation.

Addressing such kind of challenges, it was the aim of Apostle

Paul to deal with low self esteem in the young evangelist
Timothy as he advised him to ”let no man despise his youth”
but that he should be an example of the believers, in word, in
conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith and in purity 1Timothy
4:12.

Lastly, I would like to thank the youth leadership of AFM

Glory Assembly for coming up with various youth programs
and communication that are addressing the challenges
mentioned above. May God bless our youth as they continue
to embark on such programs in this New Year.

AGENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

Rejoice oh young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the
days of your youth. Walk in the ways of your heart and the sight of your eyes. But know
that for all these things God will bring you into judgement. Ecclesiastes 11:9

Heavenly father has given you freedom to do whatever you want to do on this earth in your youth. However, he
has also given you agency, the ability to choose right from wrong and act for yourself.

While you choose your course of action, you are not free to choose your consequences. Consequences will
follow as an expected outcome of the choices you make.

Worldly pleasures make our lives satisfied, but such

choices delay our progress and lead to heartache and
misery. Righteous choices lead to lasting happiness and
eternal life. Remember, true freedom comes from using
our agency to choose obedience; loss of freedom comes
from choosing disobedience.

You are also responsible for developing the talents and

abilities heavenly Father has given you. You are
accountable to him for what you do with your life.

We are a youth of epoch. We have been energetic in our activities and we have achieved quite a number of
things to perk up the youth ministry at our local church. Some of the activities comprise the trip to the Lake at
Salima district. The trip led by youth patron Mr. Mwase, attended by 14 members, was pleasant as we indulge
ourselves in swimming, and sports activities.

What should we do to make these trips superb?

DATING AND MARRIAGES
A date is a planned activity that
allows a young man and a young woman to get to know each other better.

In cultures where dating is tolerable, it can help you learn and practice social skills, develop
friendship, have innate fun and eventually find an eternal mate.

Young men usually take the initiative in asking for and planning dates. At all times be kind
and respectful when you ask for a date or when you accept or decline one. While on a date, be
considerate as you listen to others and express your own feelings.

As you grow, make dating and marriage a high priority. Seek a companion who is worth to go
to the church to be sealed to you for time and eternity. Church marriages and creating an eternal and a
humble family are essential in God’s plan of happiness.

Everyone in life want to have a good life, but none want to change mindset, we realise that money is
important in today’s life but we don’t live a life of making money. “Those who cannot change their
minds cannot change anything” George Bernard Shaw said. Therefore, upon realising that life is
about changing, and adapting to change, the youth committee organised a seminar with an assign to
develop mindset of youths towards good destiny and to provide knowledge and understanding of
business. Mr Mbanda and Mrs Kabala facilitated the seminar.

Taking the stage Mr Mbanda a Zimbabwean, inspired the youth with his tutorial. His much emphasis was

breathtaking.

HEALTH
Acute renal failure (ARF) is an abrupt and sudden reduction in renal
function resulting in the inability to excrete metabolic wastes and maintain proper fluid &
electrolyte balance. It is usually associated with oliguria (urine output <30cc/hr or
<400cc/day), although urine output may be normal or increased. BUN & creatinine values are
elevated.

Statistics of ARF

Frequency: condition develops in 5% of hospitalized patients and 0.5% patients require

dialysis

– Elderly are at high risk

– Post-op patients

Mortality: the mortality rate estimates vary from 25-90%

Race: no racial predilection is recognized

Pathophysiology

ARF may occur in 3 clinical settings:

– As an adaptive response to severe volume depletion and hypotension, with

structurally and functionally intact nephrons (Prerenal)

– In response to cytotoxic or ischemic insults to the kidney, with structural and

functional damage (Intrinsic or Intrarenal)

– Obstruction to the passage of urine (Postrenal)

Functions of a kidney

Control of water balance: Normal ingestion of water daily is 1-2L and

normally all but 400-500mL is excreted in the urine

– Osmolality: degree of dilution or concentration of urine (#particles

dissolved/kg urine (glucose & proteins are osmotically active agents)

– Specific Gravity: measurement of the kidney’s ability to concentrate

urine (weight of particles to the weight of distilled water)

– 26ADH:

Sunday school has been a part of church way of life for years. Unluckily, its significance has been severely

The Day Before I Found You

By; Kali Seagraves

I never had a perfect life

I always wonder why it never went right
None of my dreams ever came true
But that was the day before I found you

I went to church the next day

When I heard the preacher give the call
I went to the alter fell on my knees
Opened my heart and gave it all

Now you’re here in my heart

Now my life has a brand new start
So many years have gone by
There was so much confusion in my life
But that was the day before I found you

God say: All things are possible
(Luke 18:27)

SPORTS

If you lose a game, don’t lose the celebration. A

(Picture by Mc Daffu) Lilongwe select ready for a game in Mitundu game entirely dominated by A.F.M Mchinji, was
so fascinating. It was Albert Maere, who opened
the scoring at 20th Minute, and Pastor Sand boy
scored the second at 27th minutes. The Mchinji
boys were attacking wave by wave, thanks to
Yamikani Hassan who was very brilliant on goal
denying Pastor Sand Boy, whose pace was
spiritually, on several occasions. In the second
half, A.F.M Lilongwe United tried their luck
through Bisai Jacob to reduce the deficit after
nice football with James Maere, but his short was
well saved by the goal custodian of Mchinji.
Albert Maere scored his second goal of the game
making it 3 – 0 before pastor Sand Boy scored the
last goal of the day to make it 4 – 0 in favour of
A.F.M Mchinji. Speaking after the match, Pastor
37 | P a g e Chazuka thanked the boys for participating and
encouraged them to indulge in various sports
activities.

Timoteyo (translated as timothy in English) magazine is a booklet that will
make you boot back and calm down with friends, family and church. We’ve all
worked hard over the past years for the betterment of the church and are looking
forward to a well-deserved A.F.M. The much- anticipated reputation of the
church gives us all time to reflect on the years that were and to take a stock of
our achievements, successes and struggles, and plan for the coming years with all
their potentials for new things.

They say youths are leaders of tomorrow. Yet the truth remains that youths are
leaders of today. The youths have being pillars and flag careers of A.F.M ever
since. They have carried difficult tasks and passed challenging paths. Yet they
didn’t GO BACK OR weary with youth ministry. That’s why we published this
magazine as a gift for the work well done.

It is true that being a young person is so thrilling. But being an inactive young
person is so pathetic. I love youth ministry, I really do. But the thing is the
church should not segregate the youth for its own sake. They are part of the body

I am firmly convinced that what today’s youth need most is the gospel of Christ
Jesus the lord. He is the one in whom the fullness of God is found, and he’s the

one whom we are filled (Col 2:9-10). Moreover, he is the one who gives meaning
to this life.
