SLIDING and CLIMBING

- Life is a clean slate, to fill it, is a journey, this journey are full of surprises, there are things
that can be expected, and there are those which can turn us around 180 degrees. We can
aim for something and climb over the obstacles in order to attain it, but sometimes we just
slide, and eventually reach something that we desire unexpectedly. Every movement act,
thought or decision add up as strokes on that clean slate.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY –

“Pointing unto the vast unknown is aiming to something meant to be known”

- Throughout the process we already aimed towards a direction, and during this ride, there
are things, ideas, new inspirations which eventually present, and reveal themselves.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

- To provide an escape from an already urbanized baguio city

- To be able to maximize local operating resources
- To be able to increase the country’s standard for a quality resort

DESIGN OBJECTIVES

- To design a resort which is further away from the dense center of the city, and to provide
nodes of chalets as a residence for the guests instead of one big dense hotel.
- To design a resort that will utilize the size of the site in helping in operation costs,
- To design a resort that will accommodate public events, and guests not particularly
intending to stay for long periods of time.
- To design a resort that will provide activities, not usually found on mountain resorts like
Airsoft, and Archer arena

DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS

- 1.) Density – as much as possible, buildings on the more private zone are not to be close to
one another
- 2.) Acess – due to a mountainous, and steep setting, provisions for vehicles, like roads, and
parking are very limited
- 3.) Topography – On the steeper portion of the site, only small buildings are placed.
- 4.) View – due to the beautiful view along the North, and Western direction, private
accomodations, are spreadout along these areas
- 5.) Farm – due to the site being huge, and Baguio as one of the place to grow strawberry, a
farm is utilized as it will also minimize food cost for accommodation, and may also sell part
of its harvest
- 6.) Revenue – In order to garner more income, the public would have a reasonable access to
the resort, such as the Airsoft,Archery, Gym, Supermarket, and Restaurants.
