containing a desired product is fed into the evaporator and it is heated by a heat source
like steam. Because of the applied heat, the water in the solution is converted into vapor
and is condensed while the concentrated solution is either removed or fed into a second
evaporator for further concentration, (Jaishree, 2010). Methods for solving multi-effect
evaporators fall into three broad classes, the traditional trial-and-error taught in most
textbooks, simplified methods used for first order design approximation, and complex
methods such as dynamic programming and evolutionary operations, and the only
method taught in classrooms was the traditional trial-and–error method, (Joye & F.).
GUI provides an accurate and flexible method to be used as a design tool in practice,
(Miranda, 2011). The fully computerized method converges from any starting point by
any single valued function, such as the steam rate and was at least an order of magnitude
faster than nonlinear solving equation techniques. In addition, the computer routine can
be incorporated into search program to find optimum economic design, (Joye & F.
William, 1988).
